Smaller crowd I thought, but it didn't matter Jim came out with a huge smile and a great attitude. He was giving the thumbs up like he was Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The boys rocked it, and then I lost $40 at the casino.
At Dawn!!!!!!
At first I thought they opened with At Dawn...if they ever did I think I'd lose my fooking mind.
i thought that too at first and flipped cuz i almost drove there from KC today... I've always wanted to experience that
gr8 show.

Only omissions I can remember from this list are Golden and Two Halves, other than the tune that opened the Bonaroo show before Evil Urges that the band didn't play, which is exactly how it was tonight. Great time. Some sound problems plagued the end of the set/first encore. At Dawn was the first encore, not the opener, and it would have been great if not for the sound problems.
Nice setlist.
A very interesting crowd on a beautiful night in CB/Omaha.
Neck hurts....check
Eyes red...check
Voice gone...check
MMJ!!!!!!....ROCKS!
How long was the show?
right about 2.5 hours or so...
Pete Yorn was there in attendance with Mike Mogis.

Fall 06 tour they opened most nights with At Dawn if I am not mistaken.

me, too! ;D i had a gasp moment of, "that is beautiful!"
I saw Jim open a solo show with at dawn. Good stuff.
Hell, my Presbyterian Minister brother and his son made it to the f'n show. DAMMIT. Here was his comments. I'm glad he got to see them. He lived in Louisville at the time they broke and that's how I found out about them originally years ago.
QuoteWell, this is the first day of life after MMJ!!! It was absolutely fan-f---ing-tastic. Later

The set list also shows War Begun and Remnants during the encore, but they were crossed off and not played. My first MMJ headlining show (got to hear them open for Pearl Jam 3 years ago), and it was amazing. Wish I could go again!
Here is the lesson people.
If you don't want two songs crossed off of your setlist, pass the word around for everyone to SHOW UP ON TIME!!!!!!
It cost me a Cobra and a War Begun in KC.
Show was amazing!!!!
Could anyone tell me what the song MMJ came out to was?
I think it is something they recorded....but man, they looped that westerny song in NYC and it about drove me nuts. I caught myself humming it a couple of times today. But yeah...I'd love to get my hands on the song they come out to.

I think it was probably Bird's Lament by Moondog. Unless they changed it.
you can hear it here starting at the 4:05 mark in Introduction.

I don't think that was the case here. The venue was set up as such that I think they were waiting for the sun to go down a bit before they started, or it would have been blazing directly in their eyes. They came on as soon as it kind of ducked behind the fence at the top of the bowl.

You are probably right. I really don't know what I'm talking about. It just seems weird that two nights in a row they have crossed off two songs. Maybe they just kind of see how things flow and how they are feeling. They are only human. Again, I was pretty much pulling shit out of my ass here. But just to be safe, get there on time! :)

Nice! You suck! My wife's sister just moved there for her first job as a lighting person for CNN so I may just have to back my way in to a NYE visit. "Honey, let's go visit your sister! :)"
six days later...... "Oh what do you know, MMJ is playing that night. What a coincidence!"
(How's that for devious? ;))

vespa: FUCK YES! glad to hear you'll be making the trip!
Hi. I'm new. Long time super fan. Show was great. Crowd was decent. Scary moment during Touch Me pt.2 before the encore break during the wall of sound climax, the speaker to the right of the stage started to go crazy with crackling feedback noise. I thought the damn thing was going to explode. The real shame was that they had to end the song about two "WAHHHHH"s short. Banter was top notch, and the version of Dondante was like nothing I have heard.(Jim took off on a jam of his own twisting the tuning nobs on the ringing note, and then dropping it down to a drop D or to a death metal Crunch and marching around the stage. By the time Carl came in on the saxophone the song wasn't the same so neither was the sax solo.) Did some awesome soul recorded this show? I have my doubts, didn't see anyone. But I want to hear that Dondante again. Hello.
