This is now the second thread I've made about this show. :-/
Look on the bright side, rc. You'll have the rail to yourself...
I'll be there!
where is the meet up? I'm coming from Tampa
I'm messaging you abt. this show kid. Check your box.
Im there with four, are we getting drinks before or meeting up inside?
I talked to Patrick at bonnaroo and he's expecting alot of energy!!! Don't let me break a promise ;)
Flying in from Boston +1
Don't know the area (is it in DisneyWorld?) so I'm wondering what's the plan.
I did hear that the place is a nice place to see a show, though 8-)
^I know it's in Downtown Disney, which has a great party scene, but I've never been there.
Has anyone here been to the HoB in Orlando?
I've got a first-timer coming, and he doesn't yet know what a treat he's in for...
Oh yeah. I've worked the JB and friends benefit show at the HOB every year since 2001. It's always a treat. The guys are gonna tear it up this weekend...an intimate venue for a powerhouse band. Plenty to do in downtown disney as well.
BTW: anyone going from the St. Petersberg/Pinellas County area?
I'll be there. I don't know anyone on this board though. I'm coming from Jacksonville for my first show ever. I can't wait.
I'll be there and I can't wait! HOB is a nice place to see a show, but I think it's gonna be packed. 4 days and counting.
I'll be there! Driving over from St. Pete.
I've been to HOB a good hundred + times, and it's one of my favorites... except the no camera rule. "Pass the Line" is available for this show, so if everyone(anyone) wants to grab dinner/drinks before the show at the HOB restaurant (or you can spend $25- $30 at the HOB store), then you get to enter the venue before all of the people outside in line. There are other restaurants within Downtown Disney as well. I'm game for anything; shoot me a PM. ;)
Look at all the company you'll have RC!
soo jealous. Oddly I love Disney and would make a mini holiday out of this since it's all right there.
It took long enough for a reply but this is GREAT...Can't wait....Got the hotel room and the whole 9 yards :D :D
I can't wait! My boyfriend and I are driving down from Gainesville. This will be my 3rd time seeing them and my boyfriends first. HOB is an awesome venue.
I am tall and have red hair so if you see me say hello cause im comin from jacksonville by myself.
second time seeing my morning jacket first time was at bonnaroo this year.. cant wait for the show deff gonna have to sneak in a camera some how.. If any crazy meetups are happening im down..
any extra tix floating around for this show? let a brother know. thx.
I don't think it's sold out yet
Oh no cameras...F&%k you Mickey Mouse! That's Disney 4 ya
are there gonna be any opening bands for this show?
no opening bands. I'll look out for you David as I'm also coming solo from Orlando area.
QuoteI don't think it's sold out yet
I know, but F%!# ticket master. I'd rather help someone split fees. BTW rccola: I'll hit you up when I get off the plane. Gotta rage ATL tonight.
IT'S HEATING UP!
What is there to do around the venue before the show starts?
QuoteWhat is there to do around the venue before the show starts?
There are a bunch of restaurants around the venue but it's in Disney so all of them are going to be pretty pricey. There's also an Irish restaurant/pub called Raglan Road that's pretty sweet.
I have heard that there is a Virgin megastore nearby, is this true?
Also anyone who has been to the HOB how is parking?
Yeah, the Virgin store is truly...a MEGA store. Also, I always park right outside of the Downtown Disney main entrance and walk down. It's a quick walk and no hassle. See you there kids.
There are a bunch of restaurants around- Rainforest Cafe, Bongos, Planet Hollywood, HOB... Then there are also places where you can grab something quick to go- Wolfgang Puck's Express, and a few others I can't remember. Hell, I'm pretty sure there was a McDonald's somewhere...
There's a movie theater right across from HOB, as well as, Virgin. It's literally right across (well next to the Disney Quest store) from the HOB store/ticket window.
Parking is great! One of the many reasons I love going to HOB! There are several huge lots, with NO FEES, right there, and I've never seen them completely full. We always park the closest to Cirque du Soleil that we can, then it's a quick walk through the lot, by the huge guitar, and you're there! Look for the huge Planet Hollywood sign, and then go as far left (facing the PH) as you can near the far entrance. Look for th e HOB tower!
As for cameras, GOOD LUCK! It can be done, but it's usually impossible here. They wand you and then also pat you down- girls and guys alike! But if you do get it in, it's even harder to use it- most security guards will rip it out of your hands! Just use your camera phones. If you plan on taking pictures from the rail- NOT going to happen!
If anybody's interested in the HOB Pass the Line, I think you'd have to be there before 6, as they usually let the PTL people in 15 minutes before the outside doors open, and the service is SLOW! Reservations would be a good idea also, as Downtown Disney will be FULL of tourists and just everybody on a Saturday evening!!
I can't wait... TWO MORE DAYS!!! :D
alright here is a picture of me for all you Orlando attendees.
Here is me on a good day: (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/davidd232/SecretMachinesTampa010.jpg)
I am the goofy red head. The other guy is Phil Karnats formerly of Tripping Daisy
what is the %chance that At Dawn will be played in Orlando? I hope it is around 100%
Nice seeing you Dave and welcome to the board. I'll be the guy with the Ratman T-shirt
This will be my first time seeing them since March of 2002, when I
saw them at New World Brewery in Tampa.
I'm pretty sure they have not played in Florida since then.
Pretty excited!
Pics I took from that Tampa show in 2002:

Which makes me wonder--what are they going to open it up with tonight, now that they've been switching it up?
Okay so Im typing this from the Sun Regal Resort, about 15 mins from the House Of Blues. Just want to know what RARE tracks everyones looking for tonight?
* Oxen
* The Dark
* O Is The One
* I Need It Most
* Come Closer
"pretty sure I won't get any of these, but its the same five I always ask for."
the show was great, my soaked drive home was not. can't even remember what they opened up with but htey did play touch me pt. 1 then smokin then touch me pt.2 followed by run thru and OBH.
correction, they opened with Anytime I believe.
and we got Evilyn is not Real!!!!!!!!!!
love that drum intro that patrick does. It was a great show. I just got home from it and I don't think I have ever heard such a stunning version of Dondante -- words can't describe. No War Begun or Cobra, but no complaints either. I don't think that anyone left the show unsatisfied. 3rd time seeing the MMJ and third time was by and far the best show I've ever seen, by any artists.
Also, Highly Suspicious and Aluminum Park sound fantastic live. Still in a daze. The poster is really good looking.
I think they opened Anytime, Aluminum Park, Off the Record, Evil Urges...and I dont remember the order very well from then on. They also did The Way He Sings and Evelyn back to back. Good show.
sköldpadda... Dark Tower?

;D i mixed up orlando and miami. d'oh!
Florida got a little less than the other shows but the band is so on fire right now. I can't describe how impressed i was with everyone at Orlando last night. I love these guys. Just love them. I took three friends to the show that had listened to the band a bit, but never seen them live. I obsess over the jacket and listen to them all the time, whole catalog, and after the show, my friends kept thanking me for showing them what they'd been missing. :)
"Florida got a little less than the other shows but the band is so on fire right now."
By this, do you mean the energy wasn't up to par as some other shows? I was absolutely stunned by how much these guys rocked Orlando. I have no complaints whatsoever and it was a GREAT show.
I think he means they played a few less songs than in other places. Anyone have the official setlist yet?
nevermind its up.
