Fellow Jacketeers.... :)
What do you think we can expect at the NYE show?
-unique stage setup? 8-)
-new cover songs?
-dusting off rare songs?
-4+ hours of musical bliss? :D
-will they ask attendees to dress up?
-will it be filmed?
Also, I've been trying to figure out why the loge sections from about 51-83 having been sold yet. They either have not been sold yet or the stage won't be as far back as it is for regular concerts at MSG- it might be a semi-half arena setup where the stage is near the middle and most everything from the sides of the stage and behind it aren't being sold (take a look at the available tickets map for the show at stubhub and you'll see that the furthest section is 312). It's possible sections 5-12 on the floor could be smaller than usual as well and who knows how big the GA Pit will be. I've emailed MSG and MMJ management to get an answer to the seating issue but haven't heard back from either yet. :-/
i just checked the thread on this here forum and it seems to me that no one got any seating past the halfway mark...any updates on this? if this comes to fruition im pretty much going to be standing on the freaking stage
...all of the above???...

question for you/everyone - have they ever asked the audience to dress up?

And I *think,* though I couldn't find any online proof, that there was a theme for NYE in Cali, too.

Actually, to be correct, it was Oregon Trail Meets the Donner Party. And it was awesome. I read the band saying somewhere (maybe relix) that this is part 2 of the NYE started after the Fillmore. And man, that was a SHOW! The pre-show skit, the set, the SNOW (they made it snow inside the Fillmore!!!!!), the costumes, it was awesome. And the SF/Cali/West Coast vibe is so cooperative that there were so many people dressed up! I was with a group of prairie girls (me), gypsies, riverboat gamblers, a wolf, etc....
I would be very surprised if there wasn't a theme to continue on this. And like I said before in another thread...the last time we saw them on NYE they were ascending the Stairway to Heaven.
Oh boy kids!
Maybe a mod knows or can find out about the seating.... :-*
What's up with seeing a seating chart for this show? CC? Anybody?
I'm looking at buying GA tickets in the Pit section....will this be the closest to the stage that you can get? I don't want to for out $185 per to find out I'm standing at the back......

AFAIK, yes. Now where exactly the PIT is located and how big it is...we don't know, yet.
FYI- the new issue of Rolling Stone has a very brief story on the NYE show where Jim is quoted as saying that the show will be a continuation of the 2006 NYE show.
And still no complete word on the seating situation....
Well, I just bought 2 GA Floor tickets for $400....I'm assuming that's gonna get me as close to the stage as possible, depending on how early we show up! Should be good enough for me.

you crazy!
I still have 2 tix available for face value that are just off the main floor if anyone's interested. Section 88...so you'll be able to see over everyone else standing on the floor.

some people have mentioned in earlier threads that they have assigned seats in section 5 and section 11.
& Prom King. no ropes :)
My wife and I would love to go but being at the Fillmore in SF on NYE's vs MSG for 2008; I don't know if the crowd will feel as intimate... just soooo many people we didn't get into the pre-sale for MSG.
We're still thinking about it but as time gets shorter, I doubt we'll be able to have time to arrange for flight/hotel/tickets...
Well, we'll see them both nights in Chicago!

Possibly, but I'm flyin in from the great white north (Saskatchewan, Canada) so what's an extra $100 per ticket to get up close?
