can a creditable source tell me if chi town is cancelled while i still have time to cancell my hotel?
I would be worried. If he couldn't play a solo show where he sits down the entire time tonight, I'm not sure how he can do the full band thing on Thursday. However, maybe, he just couldn't "get it all together" in time for tonight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you rusty. Do you need 24 hours advance notice?
How about calling the hotel and asking if they have a many rooms left. If they do, then you can cancel now, and get a new room later if you need it. Just a thought, I'm not sure if that will work or not.

Or, maybe he was kept at the hospital for a bit and wouldn't be able to make it to Chicago in time for the show at Schuba's.
He's still got a whole day to rest and travel before the Chicago Theatre shows.
that is what i'm hoping ultravisitor. perhaps they wanted to observe him for a bit longer and have a little more recovery time.

Don't freak out :)
If the boys can control the weather, they can play through a minor injury.
I'll see you in Chicago.
My buddy who works at Schuba's just called me and told me the management team indicated to him that Jim would be laid up for a couple weeks. So, I would assume that all 3 shows are cancelled.
This totally blows, my old man's supposed to fly in tomorrow for the Thu and Fri shows, we've been planning this for months.
Oh well, bad luck, MAN! The night before. Anyway, I hope Jim's ok and wish him a speedy recovery.
Pithfork is reporting that both Chicago show are postponed. Get better Jim.

Sorry to hear that, I know a whole lot of you were looking forward to those shows. Maybe they'll make them up just before New Years?
Worst. News. Ever.
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( BUMMER. Get well JIMBO.
The GRINCH STOLE MY SHOWS. FUCKIN STAGE GREMLIMS.
I have no words
I was thinking the make-ups could be right before NYE or I see the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving is open. No matter when they reschedule it will be great.
As for right now, all energy is being sent to Jim for a quick recovery.
Also, there is a Paste online article in which Patrick states they will make up the Iowa City show. That just goes to show how great this band is. get better Jim..
My Morning Jacket's Jim James injured at Iowa City show

Some somber news came last night from Iowa City, where My Morning Jacket's Jim James sustained some serious injuries after misjudging the stagefront, slipping and hitting his head. James collapsed into the crowd and was taken to University Hospital.
"It was pitch black. He couldn't even see the edge of the stage," one front-row fan told Corridor Buzz. The fall occurred 33 minutes into the band's set, at the end of the song "Off the Record," after James had already engaged in some characteristic stage antics during first seven songs of the set, mostly taken from Evil Urges.
James was released from the hospital this morning, but MMJ's scheduled concert for Barack Obama in Chicago tonight has been cancelled. Drummer Patrick Hallahan did affirm that the band will make up the Iowa City date, though.
I'm fucking crushed....
Get well soon soldier.
I know this is tough to hear right now, but I bet they will give you guys some shows to remember when these do finally get rescheduled. The anticipation will just grow and grow. I realize that some people won't be able to make it to the rescheduled shows and some people will get screwed out of some plane tickets or shit like that. And for those people, I'm sorry.

Oh, man I second that. Whatever date they reschedule Chicago for, I'll be there with bells on! I had my trip to from Michigan to Chi-town all set to go...but I want to see the guys at their peak. I'd hate it for Jim to perform while he's hurting.
Even though I am totally bummed, MMJ will be back in no time!!
Damn. Get well JJ.
Going to be hard to explain this to my friends flying in from Switzerland right now.
Coincidentally, they went to school at Iowa, so they know exactly where this happened.
i just called the theatre they have not heard of any cancellations,
still keeping my fingers crossed.
thanks for the input peeps
I'm going to believe it when I hear the news from the Band..........(hope)
Chicago has plenty of reason to sing the blues lately. Like the Cubs, this doesn't help.
back up plan....

I had front row main floor for tomorrow night.

please don't be cancelled.
Even though I've been front and center for MMJ in the past, I'm now starting to really hate Iowa.

YES PEOPLE, KEEPS YOUR HOPES UP!!!
We all know JJ is out of the hospital, and these shows have not OFFICIALLY been cancelled/postponed yet
FUCK PITCHFORK, they suck at reviews and everything else so I dont trust a word that they say
JamBase says they
BELIEVE the shows will be postponed, but obviously nothing official has come across the wire yet
Signed - fingers crossed in the quad cities
PS - Jesus, if I go to church today, will MMJ rock out in the windy city the next couple days?

They're canceled, and it sounds a lot more painful then a leg injury.
