flying in from nyc for the weekend, heading to the riverside with some native milwaukeeans (ites?) who are new to mmj ...
does milwaukee love mmj? how many times have they been thru milwaukee? is it going to be crazy? crazy would be swell ...
so far on this tour i've seen them at radio city and in boston, and i'm also hooked up for new year's eve ... love this band, in a serious way ...
is the riverside sold out? what's the riverside like? aside from being on the side of a river ...
I was there two years ago and it kicked major a$$. I was first/second row the whole time and I didn't get there super-early or anything, just walked right up to the front. I don't expect that to happen this time though. It's basically your typical old theater with the ornate decorations, balconies, etc...The only complaint I have about last time is that I went with this crazy girl who only liked the rockers and would not shut up when they were playing "Nashville to Kentucky," complaining about how boring it was...yeah she's not around anymore :)
show isn't sold out at the riverside, which has 2500 capacity, not huge by any standards. do shows sell out late in milwaukee?
Not sure...hopefully not though b/c I still know at least 4 people who haven't gotten their tickets yet. Last show I was at it was only about half capacity. I think the band is much more popular now though.
Whatevery you do, go to the MMJ Aftershow Party and check out Dead Confederate and Catfish Haven. You will not be dissapointed, I swear. However, I don't know where it is, and I will not be there because Milwaukee is like a million miles from Louisville and I don't have any money. Look it up, make the journey, thank me later. PEACE!
I do plan on going to the after party...I think it's right across the street! either way I'm there...hopefully they let in my little bro...he's only 20 but has a military ID and plans on being the DD anyway
milwaukee show sold out!! my kind of town ....
See y'all there. I'll be on the rail! :D
Can't wait!! Not getting much work today....
I can't wait!
I heard a live interview with Patrick yesterday on 88.9 Radio Milwaukee. He told a great story about the Erykah Badu guest performance in Dallas and talked quite a bit about Louisville. It was really cool. They've been playing the hell out of MMJ on that station. Can't wait for the show tonight! I've seen'em over a dozen times.
Head down to the Bad Genie Rock Lounge after the show.

looks a lot like Berkeley's set!!! :D
i had such a great weekend in milwaukee (my first real visit), and this show had to have been among the best of the tour ... jim was out of his mind, really seemed to dig the crowd ...
'touch me 2' straight into 'run thru' is just unfair ... i thought the balcony was going to give way when he sparked that riff back to life ... the most dramatic moment in rock right now ...
'evelyn,' dancefloors,' 'cobra' ...
all hail milwaukee, a swell city ... and all hail the mighty mmj ...
My first visit to Milwaukee...what a magnificent city. I was front and center on the rail and it was an awesome, awesome show. A little disappointed to not hear Phone Went West or Steam Engine, but I'm not complaining!

We went to Mo's and ran in to the lead singer from DC...he seemed a little shocked that we recognized him. Anyway, it was jam packed due to parent's weekend at Marquette, so we didn't stay. Anyone catch them?
Awesome time in MKE. Glad my out of town friends could make it.
Here are some pics from the rail. Sassbox got a wink from JJ.

I caught about 2 songs of Dead Confederate...me likey! I talked to the lead singer as well, very nice guy. Also talked to Catfish Haven bassist a bit. I bought 2 Catfish Haven LP's and the new Dead Confederate but have yet to listen to them. MMJ was awesome though, I have 2 new converts, my brother and girlfriend! We were about 4th row on Jim's side for most of the show, but made it up to the front row for the encore. My GF got to touch the "V!" I could have too but thought better of it. If I had missed I would've gotten the "D" instead if ya know what I mean...not that there's anything wrong with that...

Still a little incredulous that I missed that somehow! Must have been the two seconds I looked over at Carl. ;)
I can confirm that Milwaukee was indeed epic, and that Sassbox did indeed get a double take from JJ :D
Good times, you guys!
