I don't think this has been posted (if it has, I apologize), but my friend that works at Schuba's asked that I post the following link on the board:

Pretty cool poster and not too expensive...I especially like that he signed it "#34" - not sure if that is a Payton reference or just a coincidence.
Jim signs everything with #34. But I'm glad to see that these didn't just get thrown away after the show was cancelled.
awesome, thanks for the heads up.
just scooped one up!!
i want one!
I wonder how they are handling the pickup.
Very cool collector's item.
QuoteI wonder how they are handling the pickup.
Walk to bar, ask for Jamie, go upstairs and pick it up. ;)
These are high quality prints. Very nice.
I love the historic nature too. A benefit show for Obama, at an old Schlitz bar, that never actually happened.
Get well Jim!
So they're already in? Sweet. I have to go over there tonight to pick up my street team posters anyway.

Hi Builtolast!
I love this poster, thanks for the link. Do you know how many were printed? I donated and emailed them that I needed to make arrangements to have it mailed. I have not heard back :-?
Anyone know why Jim signed these all #34?
Has he signed anything else with that #?

You have to contact Matt Rucins at Schuba's. Send them $8 and they will mail it to you. I think the email is obamaposter@gmail.com

I read that, but that's not very concrete. And again, has he signed anything else with that #? What's the significance?
I'm askling b/c I heard from someone at the venue that they were signed this way b/c Jim thought Barack was our 34th prez.
Just looking for something telling me this isn't the case.
::)

Yeah, that's correct. Jim just doesn't count Kennedy,Garfield, Lincoln, McKinley, Taylor, FDR, Harrison, or Harding; seeing that they all died in office. He also excludes Bush Jr. and Carter because, come on, were they really even Presidents?
definitely not the case. here's the #34 devoted thread.

I've been arguing with someone about this and this links ends it.
I didn't think Jim was that out of touch. :o

Hi wizzard,
I spoke to Anne Benjamin, the artist, and she said only about 120 were printed.
They are absolutely gorgeous in person.

Wizz,
I ordered one of the posters on Mon. Wednesday I received an email with directions for postage and today I received a phone call for same. I would just call Schuba's if I were you; the guy who called me was very nice. (Essentially, send them $8 to cover S&H).
They are $40 + s/h now.

They're all gone now. I managed to get one.
Were these going to be sold or giveaways at the Obama benefit? I'm still bummed that it never happened and I was gonna be there.

Thanks Ladies! After some confusion (and me politely pestering Matt & Tim @ Schubas) my poster is on the way. Turns out I confused the system by donating after Obama won and before the posters went on sale to benefit the youth orchestra. Alls well that ends well...
Aw, they're benefitting the CYSO now? How cool. :)
