I would like to start this post for the band. Hopefully they read the forum and will see this.
I would like to thank you guys for the wonderful New Year's show. I did not think a trip to the City would be such a blast. I love how you all threw in all the oldies to make it a great dance time. I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into every live show. I've seen five shows this year and it amazes me how you can be so clean every time.
Jim, thank you for playing this show. I know you are probably still in pain, but what you and the boys did Wednesday was unbelievable! I appreciate all the great music you guys have given to the world, and I try to get you new fans everyday.
Thanks for making a guy from Louisville welcome in the big city. It was definitely worth the drive, and I would do it tomorrow!
;)
+1
Thank you too!
i was explaining to someone the other day that most of life is spent pretending to enjoy something walking around acting in a certain way. when i'm watching MMJ, time stands still and i AM completely enjoying myself. for those few hours, i don't have to pretend. it's one of the rare pure moments in life ;-) thanks guys. the more i think about it-perfect set list.
NYE was amazing, but I have to say thanks for being a band that makes wonderful music. That's all...thanks for putting it out there.
Goose, I could not have said it better myself. The guys put on one hell of a show. A friend of mine who has been a fan for about 4-5 yrs now and who has never seen the band before was absolutely blown away by it. I kept telling him for the past few months leading up to the show how great they were going to be. He just sort of nodded and said "well, we'll see". Coming out of the Garden, he just turned to me said "you were right."
You sound much like I felt after GivenToFly and I made our trek to Louisville this summer. Completely understand, appreciate, and second the sentiment. Good God, I love this band...
I got honest to goodness chills reading this thread :) The Jacket brought so much joy into my life in 2008...and travel, adventures and new friends to boot! THANK YOU!
Ditto to all of the above comments.
For all of the hours that I have spent at MMJ concerts, there has not been a second during a show that i was not feeling complete ecstacy and utter enjoyment of life
When I was at the show I knew that there was nowhere else that i would have rather been. It was the definition of perfection
my thanks to the band and all the support staff that made it all possible

So true. I got on a lot of planes to see them this year and even that normally annoying time was made so much better knowing where I was headed!

I feel the exact same way. Before I saw them, Dave said to me "you just don't know until you see them live." And it's so true. You can't explain to someone how awesome they are live. They have to experience it. It's an amazing feeling.
Awesome!
