Title: Travel Packages available for NYE in NYC
Post by: DBerko on Aug 15, 2008, 01:46 PM
Hey there fellow MMJ fans!  Dan Berkowitz here... I wanted to introduce myself and the company I started called Consider It Dan, where I put together travel packages for concerts and festivals.  After experiencing the epic Radio City show, the wheels started turning in my head re: My Morning Jacket NYE.  After talking with friends and other fans of the band, I put together a couple travel packages that include hotel rooms, the official MMJ NYE poster, and a pre-show party at Mustang Harry's... which is literally around the corner from Madison Square Garden.  Check out the link below to learn more as it's my wish to just help out-of-town fans be able to figure out an economical and fun way to enjoy MMJ in NYC on NYE!

Unfortunately I already booked my hotel and all that, but as a fellow Dan, I like the name of your company.

If we already booked is there any way we can get in on the pre-show party?

BERKO!!!

Berko, you will like these people

Unlike the Biscos on Phantasy Tour they won't spend their down time saying nasty things about all the hard work you do for the fans.

But we need a KING OF THE WORLD PACKAGE for MMJ!

I second the idea of a price for just the pre-party and posters. Being 20 minutes from the City, I don't need the room .... But the party and poster would rock.

"Don't Bisco this board" ..... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I won't need a hotel, but I would most likely be down for the poster and pre-show party.

tried to book this today and had all kinds of problems.  ended up calling musictoday (they handle the billing, apparently) and the guy there said it wasn't fully set up in his system yet.  he advised i call back next week.

edit:  all of a sudden, it worked.  so nevermind :)

New packages are going to be available that include only the hotel and the posters.

2 Posters
1 Hotel Room - $519

You'd pay $629 for this if you tried to do this on your own.

I'll have these up in a day or so.

Salacious - What is your email address?  I just searched through all of our email for anything related to My Morning Jacket, and I'm finding nothing that's unresolved.

What email address are you sending emails to?

Sometimes it takes us a day or two due to the sheer volume of emails that we get for all of our different packages.

And yes - I am still alive.

Don't fly on new years eve. Don't do it. You think you're a bag of nerves now? Just wait until you're stuck on a tarmack in Chicago for 10 hours like I was last NYE. Don't do it unless you've got plenty of time to spare and a bag o'lithium.

Well Sal, i aint got a choice, work comitments and all, will be getting a mid day flight, so a few hours on the tarmac will be ok, don't know about 11 hours though.., have not actually purchased the airline ticket yet, waiting for the all clear sign from the jacket actually playing the gig....i hope they tell us here soon if Jim can definitaly make it, er...what's "lithium"?? :D

^^I'm crossing my fingers for you :)

If you can avoid Northworst Northwest Airlines, do so. They have the worst holiday flight record.

Out of curiosity-- how many people ended up going this route? Who's all meeting up at the pre-party?

As far as I know, its more of an Irish Pub/Restarunt kind of place...so my guess is Guiness,Harp, Smithwick and some domestic beers. I have been meaning to call and find out. I say if you want to get your beer on to either cave in and stop by the ginger man before hand or Heartland Brewery.

I'm going to have to second this--it was really a great deal (we got BOTH posters), the restaurant was perfect, the hotel was right down the street, and the pre-party crew was just a lovely group of folks.

I'll definitely be going the Consider it Dan route in the future.
