Title: Message for Jim James from a drunken Toronto Fan
Post by: overthetop on Nov 04, 2009, 11:14 AM
Jim,

In case by any chance you read this forum:I had so much fun at the MOF show (I was in the front row) and am a huge MMJ fan.

You may remember the big guy with the little blond girl who had you sign their event poster (first autograph you signed I think): When I got a chance to say something to you it was some drunken nonsense. I was a little overwhelmed (and a lot drunk).

What i meant to say is that your music resonates with me like that of my other musical hero's like Jerry, Neil, Dylan, etc. Only this time I get to see an equivalent artist in his prime instead of wishing I had been born in a different time. Your music is very precious to me and your fans,

Both my girlfiend and I just want to thank you for a wonderful show on Monday, last NYE and at Bonnaroo last year. We really appreciate your gift and talents.

All the best to you and yours and like I said when leaving 'keep it up' :-) I can't wait for a chance to see MMJ again in the very near future.

Greg (i.e. overthetop)

OTT,

I wanted to let you know I laughed about this one for a while yesterday.  It seems liek whenever I get the chance to meet someone from a band, or someone people have spoke to me about, I seem to be wasted 7 times out of 10 (Right Teo!  Passed out in the chair!).  Maybe I'm an alchoholic, or maybe that's how we can tell our true colors, but who knows.  We all know how to make fools out of ourselves

LOL. Hadn't been out for awhile and lost track of how much I was drinking in all the excitment. It's funny when you drink in your chair sitting down and not talking for three hours... takes a while to figure out what kind of state your in afterwards.

Really took me by surprise. LOL.
