This is going to be epic beyond epic. I hope the venue is ready for us.

Hey all.. it's been a while since I've been on here.

I got a couple of PIT tickets for MPP. Super-psyched!!!!

Definitely down with a pre-show party. I think I might need to get a room at the Sheraton. Can you make a reservation without prepaying there? I don't want to fully commit to the room yet, but I definitely want to be able to get a room if I want one. Was thinking I would just drive back to NYC after the show... but I might want to drink, so that could be a problem.

Do you think the hotel will allow it?   I am going to try and make whatever is planned.  Driving up from Alexandria with a buddy of mine.  Though, he has to teach a class that day.  The class is not over until 5 pm.  I am desperately trying to get him to reschedule it for earlier in the day.

If you go for the cheapest rate ($109 when I checked) it is non-refundable.   But there's another option that I think is $125 or so that allows you to cancel up to the day before or day of.   That sounds like it might be worth it for you to keep some flexibility.   I'd definitely book now in case it fills up.

Im cool with whatever, there are 8 of us coming. Me n kerrie, and 6 of our friends (Discoball Tom, for those that were at the RCMH pre party, is coming with me).  :D

I plan to bring my bagpipes. That is always good for a tailgate party! But we are gonna have to do the outdoor kind. I'm sure there must be a parking lot or field to hang out in. Bagpipes would be to loud in the champange room   ;D

The Sheraton itself doesn't really have a room we can rent for something like this, however they do have a hotel bar (I'm assuming one of those smaller deals). They suggested I call "Clydes" or "Champps"..

Clydes has a party room we can rent but we have to guarantee a minimum spent of 550$/hour (and we can get it for 3 hours for $1650) I think if we got 40-50 people, this would probably not be a problem but it's a matter of taking the responsibility to do that. Otherwise, it's a pretty big bar to accommodate about 30 of us (if that's how many want to meet)...we get our own servers, etc

The other (and probably most viable option other than plain old fashioned hotel room parties) is Champps, which I'm sure everyone knows. It's probably huge and can accommodate us and is w/in walking distance. Cheap food, etc.

I'm up for anything and pretty sure I can handle whatever food n drink per hour $$ pace we need to hit.

I would too, I just dont think it's nessesary. I say, party in the lots, melt face with mmj, food/drinks at local bar.

We're staying at the Sheraton because it's close, but the Holiday Inn  in Columbia has rooms for $75.00. It's about six miles from MPP.

it's fucking awesome so many people got a great spot for this show.  a lot of people seemed worried because of the venue upgrade size, the devotion pays off in the end.  Don't let Merriweather forget the Jacket was there.  I'm kind of glad I'm not going to this, it'd cost me more money in chronic smoking everybody out than the actual concert.   [smiley=happy.gif]All you fucking monkey's are going to have so much fun, somebody setup a fucking robot cam in the pit so I can get a live stream and dance with you all at least.  

My friend i'm going with is totally down for pre/post-show goodness.

Im with just about everyone else on the party in the lot idea before the show. After all, we need to show all the noobs how the hardcore MMJ fans party.

I dont think I can take responsibility for a flag or anything. Im terrible with art and stuff of that nature. I was doing arts & crafts at a nursing home a couple weeks ago for valentine's day, and most of the 90 year olds with dementia made better crafts than me  ;D

Shepherdspy, our friend AJ, and myself will probably stay at the sheraton if its within walking distance. And are more likely than not ready to party... we're just going to want to grab rail so we may head out earlier

I just decided to go for it and get a hotel room at the  Sheraton. It's less than a mile walk to MPP. That way, don't have to deal with driving and getting out of the stupid parking lot after the show!

My wife and I are going to stay that night ... most likely at the Sheraton since it's so close.  We're down for whatever transpires!

exactly what i was thinking - really can't go wrong w/ GA on this one.  i'd love to bring my friend so they can experience it too (and finally understand).  but i'm coming regardless.  and i can't think of a better group to meet up with either way!

not sure what time i'll be rolling into town but i like the whole carpooling + some walking and all meeting up (at the flag?) for a giant tailgating party idea.

As far as meeting for the pre-show, I liked Ghosts' suggestion. If a bunch of people plan to get there early (I'll be one of them), we can meet somewhere and drive into MPP together so we have a big spot to allow for the insanity to get underway. We'll raise the flag so people know where to find us. Or they can just follow the trail of awesome.

Brand new to the forum and just wanted to how insanely, out of my mind excited i am for this concert.  This is hands down my favorite band and I've converted my two best friends into huge fans as well.  We've been to the philly show at festival pier and made the pilgrimage to msg for newyears show and have had our faces melted both times.  Grabbed tixs in the pavilion as soon as they went on sale and I'm just counting down the days.  
Anyways if you guys don't mind a few huge jacket fans with plenty of yingling and some sticky green party favors would love to stop by and see the flag.  Getting there early won't be a problem either considering we were absolutley the first car in the parking lot at noon for the phillly show doing it up right. We even beat security.  
Always love to get to know other jacket fans as they always seem to be genuine good people.
