This venue is 100% GA
YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
Which venue is this? Doesn't seem to be the Festival Pier. Is it the stage that has the concrete "steps' leading down to the stage where they host the Blues Fest (at Penn's Landing)?

Not festival pier.... on the other (south) side of the ben franklin bridge. they built a new stage and sound system there to open this summer :)
This place is within walking distance of quite a few good bars and restaurants, too. It being a Sunday it shouldn't be too crazy down there the way it can be on Friday & Saturday nights.
Oooohhhh!!! So it is the new stage. Thanks for clearing that up, my man :)
Hopefully the boys don't accidentally tear the new place down in a rocking F5 face melting super-tornado! :P I'm gathering up the posse at this very moment. We'll start practicing our cockpunching in case any glow stick throwing idiots decide to show up ;)
I havent been down there this year but this is the place. I'm sure it looks better than this now.

OK, cool. That is the place I had pictured in my head. Very nice!! Right on the river. Can't wait to hear how it sounds there!

Facing the Delaware, perfect. I saw Muse at Festival Pier a few years back (and missed MMJ there the next year :-/) but you're facing away from the river in that situation. This gives it a bit more of an awesome factor.
how many people does this hold? Thinking about coming out from Cali for this.
If Sass is buying hot dogs, then I'm there. I might even toss Fiddle at the stage again.
Welcome to the circus, folks.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
that is sooooo sweet. Last show of the tour, and the closest to me, so I'll definitely be there. That's great there's a new sound system. MPP spoiled me...to my ears, that was the best sounding show I've heard in a while. Just my opinion.
Throw in some drizzle and fireworks over the Ben Franklin like the festival pier show, and It could be pretty memorable!

Did MMJ organize the fireworks or was it a coincidence?

They were set up by the Riversharks baseball team in Camden. I think they do them every Friday in the summer.
No get funky headbands this time folks- don't have the resources :(
Will bring mine from Merriweather!!

anyone know this? Will this sellout quickly? I'm not sure if I can swing the trip but will get tix if it will sellout quickly.
Is this the coolest venue of the new dates? I just want to see them in a sick spot.

I've never seen a concert at this venue, but it is open to the public most of the time except for when there's a ticketed event. Its part of the waterfront. I really can't imagine this place holding more than a few thousand people, tops.

I don't think it will sell out immediately. May be sold out closer to the date though.

I might be going to Burning Man for the first time this year, so I'm not sure if I can even go to this show, but I just got 5 tickets anyway!
;D
I GOT MY TICKETS!!!!!!!!
XPN presale (code xpn)
I'm a very happy boy!!!! :D ;D ;D :D ;D :D ;D
Well that was easy.
I got one as well. 52 each after service.
I'm in +1 for this.......man TM/LN really suck!! 2 tix w/ fees and shipping for the Vermont show = $87.00 (not TM/LN), 2 tix w/ fees and free shipping for Philly = $104.00 through TM/LN.
Got 2!!
Egads!!! 5 tix = $260.00
Meh, worth every penny imo :) Also know of 3-5 more people buying tix tomorrow. Bring it on boys!! :D
Got just 1 ticket, :D
TWO TICKETS ORDERED
CAN'T WAIT
PHILLY HERE I COME
I'd suggest The Khyber (http://www.thekhyber.com/index.php) for pre-show drinks. Close to the venue, good beers, decent jukebox, and MMJ played 2 shows here in 2001. Unfortunately for us, admission to those shows was likely the same as the cost of a beer at today's shows.

what whaaaaat :D
Definitely agree with the Khyber. Seen several shows there & always had a good time.

Yes! :D
For all of us going to the Sunday, August 29th concert in Philly and are like me, not living or from that area, I found this site about venue:
http://www.delawareriverevents.com/index.php?pageID=14&image=13h
It can tell you about the site, parking, hotels, etc etc
Believe the concert will be held in "The Great Plaza" section of Penn's Landing
Hope it can be of some use to us.
You're right... the "Great Plaza" is the location. There are a couple concerts happening there before the MMJ show this summer. I might go down to one of these to check it out, see where to stand in line, what the new stage is like, and so on. It being a Sunday I wouldn't expect parking or traffic to be too bad unless you're coming from the NJ shore. In that case, I'm sorry for you, for numerous reasons.
QuoteQuotealady +1

Yes! :D
Guess who's the +1 :)
YouAre_GivenToFly,
That would be great if you could "check" things out for us out of town or newcomers to the venue.
Thanks a lot for doing that.
I called a few Hotels in the area:
Comfort Inn: Two Queen Beds: $159.99 plus 15.2% tax plus $23 parking fee. This includes, Breakfast, free shuttle for 20 blocks radius, if you have four people in the room its $20 extra, flat rate.
Hyatt: Two Queen Beds: $220 plus 14% !!! (not sure if that is correct) Parking $21, no breakfast. If you paid in full when you book it will be $190.
Sheraton: King Bed: $189 with 15.2% tax, Valet Parking $34.80 or self parking near by. If you get a room with two queen beds, its still $189 plus tax and if you have four people in the room, it will an extra $40 flat fee. This Hotel rate does not offer breakfast, that is extra.
I know what option I'm taking, if I decide to stay.
Now I did not look anywhere else that offer hotels, but I'm sure there is a Holiday Inn Express etc near by.
Hope this helps someone besides me.

That's where I'll be coming from. ;D LBI is home for me.
No biggie though... if the sun is shining people stay the whole day and travel home at night. They only leave early on crappy days.
I'll be coming into Philly in the afternoon, so it shouldn't be too bad.(Fingers crossed)
b/c i want to see how our Philly hosts throw down: i'm in! [smiley=beer.gif]
Woo! :)
Just got my 2 tiks and I agree with meeting up at the Khyber beforehand.
Just picked up a couple of tix for this show, super pumped as I had to beg and plead with the wife as we already had reservations for the beach all week long. Definately worth the extra 4 hour drive on the way back. ;)

there's a hyatt right by the venue. go to hotwire.com, you'll get the best deal. last time i went to a show in philly i used hotwire and i got a 4 star hotel room within walking distance to the venue for 90 dollars a night. it happened to be at the hyatt. the room was out of control. beds were like sleeping on clouds.
just go on the site, give the address of the venue and the dates you need, choose what star rating you want for the hotel and they will hook you up with a deal.

*buys bungee cords* there, that should tether me to the ground.
Got 2!
Just got 2 tickets. Wicked excited. Kinda pricey, $104 for a pair; but since this is a Sunday rather than a week day, I probably won't have to pay my sister an extra $50 to wait in line so I can get up front like I did for the Festival Pier show.

She was in line behind me! ;D
That's right, I remember meeting you.. how goes it? I'm pumped about this show. Haven't seen 'em since the Festival Pier show; it'll be almost 2 years between shows for me.
I got mine yesterday, can't wait already!
excellent! shaping up to be a spectacular crowd! can't wait to hang out and enjoy the day with you fine folks.
I was talking to a friend of mine about hotels in the area, she suggested one in New Jersey, right across the river, i think she said it runs about $70/night, and is about 10 mins from the venue. I think it's the Days Inn in Brooklawn,

Be careful where you stay across the River.
I'm from Jersey and you couldn't pay me to stay in some of the spots right over the Ben Franklin. I don't know enough about Brooklawn, but Camden is pretty sketchy. Definitely stay away from there.

Camden is pretty sketchy = understatement of the year :)
We may just drive back home that night....still figuring out the plans!

Yeah I know...I just didn't want to freak anyone out by saying "murder capital" of the country! ;)
Whenever we go to shows @ the Tweeter Center (Susquhanna Bank Center now), we always stay across the river in Philly. Never even gave staying on the Jersey side a thought.
Yeah, i'm driving back the night of, my friend's mom just suggested it, she's gone to shows in Philly and stayed there herself with her family, I'll ask her about the general area.
According to Live Nation, for the month of June, no service fee for the Philly show. Or any other show at River Stage.
