I'm hoping it's true...but it's a bit odd that Outside Lands is the same weekend as Mile High.  That's a quick turnaround for the band if they play Outside Lands on the 14th and then Mile High on the 15th.

Yeow, let's hope they get the headlining set so we can hear some long Lay Lows! Oh Yeah!

The Black Keys opened for MMJ at Red Rocks a couple years ago and played Outside Lands the next day, it's doable.

i went to both of those shows and joked with all my friends i was just gonna jump in the black keys' bus to get to frisco. not 5 minutes after i got to my seat on my plane and patrick carney (drummer from the keys) comes walking up the aisle. what're the odds?

Report: Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Al Green for Outside Lands '10

Lineup announcements can a tricky thing. Do your standard, let's-post-at-midnight reveal and a festival has the potential of being lost in the shuffle of the 1,100 other festival announcing their lineups on that same day. Do too much and the announcement can leave people turned off, even bitter, especially when the lineup isn't actually worth the fanfare.

So far, we've seen one festival use a word puzzle to unveil its 2010 bill. Another held us hostage at our computers for a good 12 hours. A third just made no attempt of fixing its leaky faucet. For this year's Outside Lands Music Festival, the San Francisco based event has been giving hints about its 2010 lineup via its Twitter account. It also apparently gave a copy of that lineup to Relix Magazine, which published a selection of OSL 10's scheduled acts in this month's issue.

So even though this year's bill isn't set to be unveiled until June 1st, we already know the following: Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix, Al Green, The Levon Helm Band, Black Star, and Gossip will be appearing at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park between August 14th and 15th.

Other rumored acts, based on the aforementioned Twitter clues, include Social Distortion, Chromeo, Bassnectar, Gogol Bordello, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, The Temper Trap, Tokyo Police Club, and Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

As mentioned all will officially be known on June 1st. Tickets will also be available on that date.

that's logistically crazy. it is 20+ hours on the road from DEN to SF. how do they do that--two sets of gear?

Damien Marley/Nas are apparently pulling the same back to back festivals on opposing days. they should just trade amps...

They play, they wave good bye, and they hit the fuckin' road. and it's like 18 hours.

Just got the email confirming MMJ is in fact playing outside lands.

"My Morning Jacket will be performing at the 3rd annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival the weekend of August 14th and 15th in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA. Weekend Passes go on sale on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10am PST and Single Day tickets will be available Sunday, June 6th at 10am PST. "

I'm going to do everything in my power to make it to this festival.

I'm happy that they are not the headliner on Saturday, so I can leave all the Deadheads to enjoy the band Further.  However, that means that MMJ won't get a long set.  Looking forward to seeing MMJ, The Strokes, and the Levon Helm Band.  Hopefully, these three acts will play at different times so I can check 'em out.

I couldn't care less about the Sunday lineup.

they've probably got doubles, if not triples of all their important gear it wouldn't surprise me if they have the second one setup before they even get there.  plus the jacket will probably just fly in after that.  check their guitars and be on their way.  glad their playing both, very good for them.

QuoteI'm happy that they are not the headliner on Saturday...

outside lands has 4 stages.  looks like mmj will be the closer on one of them.  i hope it's the one opposite of the main stage.  that is a pretty field ringed by trees.

I'm not so sure about that, with MMJ having to get to Denver for the next night.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if they have an earlier set.

the smaller stages wrap before the headliner starts on the main stage.  guess we'll find out :)

i AM going to be there, too!  btw, part of the Outside Lands appeal is that they feature wines from local vinters.  a nice bonus!

YAY!  We bought our Saturday tix this weekend; sadly can't go for the whole thing, must drive back to PDX on Sunday....  But SATURDAY - WAHOOOOOO!!

Oh, Ms. Y, you have no idea how that wine tent is calling my name!!! [smiley=beer.gif]

There is about a 25-50% chance I will be making this also! My birthday is the 14th, and a friend invited me out to Red Rocks for Primus on the 12th, and he wanted to catch some west coast Further too, so as I see it, there is NO BETTER WAY to go!!!

I also wanted to catch Rodrigo y Gabriela & Xavier Rudd at Red Rocks on the 20th... What a plateful!

And ms. yvon that is great news to my ears about the local wine situation!! That makes things even dreamier  [smiley=bath.gif]  [smiley=beer.gif]

Now the decision comes down to: Do I drive or do we fly & rent carrrrsss  :D Hehehe

woodn, i found a really great deal on a car rental thru orbitz once: $10/day.  worth checking out.
driving can be exhuasting, but if you've got the time, it's a great way to see some new towns.
