Anyone got the Gram Parsons tribute DVD - JJ does a mean 'Still Feeling Blue' in a rather natty Nudie (style ?) suit.
A good night's viewing.
Great DVD for sure :)
Did you know that Jim also played Dark End of the Street?
A lot of fans are hoping that a recording of this will surface one day.
I'm one of them!!!!
That was written by some dudes from my hometown.
Who? Chips Moman & Dan Penn? ;)
Haha, just checked on Allmusic...
i have the dvd and its pretty cool..
let's try to find the other footage, that would be badass!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, Dan Penn is from this area. He wrote a bunch of songs with Spooner Oldham, who currently plays with Neil Young.
sorry for bringing back an old thread...
but did any audio rips ever surface from this DVD?
the dvd rips didn't surface around here because that's officially released material (i would like em too though). However there are audience recordings of jim doing "still feeling blue" "dark end of the street" (both solo and full band" as well as a great version of hot burrito #1 which actually came from a KCRW performance the weekend of the show. you can find them at the covers comp.
Here's the thread for that:
