Maybe it's just cause I'm coming off a weekend of Phish shows, but I don't think it's that risky, especially at an outdoor venue.

There's a "sweet spot" of usage for me where I increase productivity and am overall much less high strung. When in this zone, I've been on Dean's list and made some decent changes in the community I lived in at the time. There's a fine line between that and when I start getting all paranoid that I'm just being a useless stoner.
Also, I'm broke, it's expensive not living in a college town, and there are too many whiny mf'ers who act like I'm the root of all evil for associating with it.
I never smoke it at a concert that's indoors... unless someone happens to pass it to me... but I have noticed that it's gotten more and more prevelant, and less and less seems to be done about it. Shucks.
In Massachusetts, the worst the state can do to you is give you a $100 fine (unless you're carrying more than an ounce, but who does that?). I've read that some towns have passed laws that will tack on an additional $300 or $500 fine, but those towns probably have only 1 or 2 cops, and they're busy busting cow tippers.

There are some very discreet smoking devices that don't send a constant stream of smoke into the air thus giving away the location of the sweet smell of ganja. If somebody doesn't like the smell, don't go to a f'n rock concert. Wasn't there a thread on this 4 months ago? I smoked at all 3 shows I saw in the states and we smoked A LOT at Pemberton Fest because we didn't have to cross boarders to get there. I can't think of many things that are better than smoking while listening to Touch Me Pt2...or any of their tunes for that matter. :)

I'm not sure what shows you guys go so see, or where these shows go down, but in my experience, puffing down at shows is just part of the deal. I'm sure if you go see Justin Beiber in Alabama, you probably shouldn't fire one up.

As far as being risky...I have been to about 100 concerts in my life, and at each concert there is always reefer smoking...it's part of the scene. I have never witness someone being arrested or kicked out at a show for reefer. Yes, security will take it a way, but that is usually it.

Edibles are a great way to add to your buzz during shows. As a contientous smoker, I usually burn one hitters and refrain from doobies as it is a lot of smoke for one person. I also blow straight up so as not get others baked that don't want it.
It depends on where you live, but most police don't even worry about dope smokers.
And lastly, "All bands smoke pot" comment from a Stephen Malkmus show in portland a few years ago couldn't be more true. Ask Yim.
if my drug-addled memory serves me correctly, the only concert i've been to in 33 years (starting with peter frampton in 1977) that i didn't smoke during was 3 weeks ago, paul mccartney in nashville. burned one during his show in atlanta last year, but it was outdoors. nashville was indoors, nobody else was lighting up (hardly surprising), too easy for someone to point out "that guy in that seat right there."

My wife and I don't smoke weed and aren't too keen on the smell, but we tolerate it. If the smoke blows our way, we just ask people if they could try blowing the smoke straight up in the air. People always oblige when we ask them.
We're not trying to be pricks, but we also like to not have smoke blow our way. As long as everyone is having a good time and being considerate of others (and for the most part people are), then there shouldn't be any problems.

no, i had a warrant for my arrest for an unpaid fine I received in March for an open container (mother fuckers!! - I had an open whiskey bottle in a cooler in my back seat...). Because I live in Colorado though I tried to get a trial by phone - to make a long story short, we played email/phone tag for a while, then I moved and I honestly forgot about it. A week or so ago I was in AZ, en route to LA for The Greek Show, and this cop pulled me over for a crack windshield. He checked my ID, saw the warrant, arrested me, searched my car, found the hitter box (1,500 for the weed, 1,500$ for the pipe), impounded my car, threw me in jail and set my bail at 3,250$ - 250 for the old fine, 3,000 for the ganja. I stayed in jail 32 hours with wife beaters, DUIers, gang members and molesters...

As you will see, there are all types of people...all ages from all over the globe & interweb. It Beats 4 U tripped my friend out on acid really hard in a good way. he had never heard mmj before and ate like 2 or 3 hits of this Buddha acid that was around. we had to play a show that night and the place was packed so we went out to my car to blaze one before the show. It was snowing outside. and I ask my friend "Tell me if this song trips you out, I have a feeling it will". It started and we started blazing and he was just entranced in visuals on the cd player and then his vision expanded back as if he was seeing whatever he saw on the cd player all over the place zoom by like beams of light. and he says to me "Are you seeing this?" and I go "haha no I'm not tripping" and he laughed. we went back in and played a great first set that was psychedelic then we slowly fell apart. what can you do it was mug night and they fill whatever mug you have for a dollar (even if it's a 72 ounce big gulp plastic cup ;) all it needs is a handle muahha. . but needless to say my friend still talks about how much that song tripped me out. it was either the weed or the music, my friend in the back who was also tripping spent his time drawing penis on my fogged up windows so I don't know how he felt about it...

Smokin' a J at a MMJ show is great. There's nothing wrong with it. I think the crowd surfing and loud drunks are annoying at their shows. I'd rather lay off the booze and roll another.....

very jealous, MMJ and shrooms are a very nice combination. Did you know Rollin' Back can turn an entire room yellow and then rip the ceiling off replacing it with blue skies and white fluffy clouds? Steam Engine is the ultimate tho for me tripping.
It Beats 4 U tripped my friend out on acid really hard in a good way. he had never heard mmj before and ate like 2 or 3 hits of this Buddha acid that was around. we had to play a show that night and the place was packed so we went out to my car to blaze one before the show. It was snowing outside. and I ask my friend "Tell me if this song trips you out, I have a feeling it will". It started and we started blazing and he was just entranced in visuals on the cd player and then his vision expanded back as if he was seeing whatever he saw on the cd player all over the place zoom by like beams of light. and he says to me "Are you seeing this?" and I go "haha no I'm not tripping" and he laughed. we went back in and played a great first set that was psychedelic then we slowly fell apart. what can you do it was mug night and they fill whatever mug you have for a dollar (even if it's a 72 ounce big gulp plastic cup ;) all it needs is a handle muahha. . but needless to say my friend still talks about how much that song tripped me out. it was either the weed or the music, my friend in the back who was also tripping spent his time drawing penis on my fogged up windows so I don't know how he felt about it...
I can't wait! It's actually my first time seeing MMJ live. I had tickets to both the MSG show and RCMH show and I had to give them up. Work and illness prevented me from going to those shows.
Needless to say, I'm quite excited to space out for a good 2-3 hours with Jim and the Gang. I picked up a half ounce of these back in June and I have a little over an eighth left and these are the best shrooms I've ever had. I'm gonna be out of my fucking mind in Holyoke lol!
Haha funny I should see this topic today because last night was the first time I've seen the Jacket stoned. I only smoked because my buddy who took my extra ticket wanted to. I usually get high for shows that I know aren't going to be that interesting (mainly jam bands) and weed makes it so much better. But with MMJ, it honestly feels like I'm on the most intense trip of my life when I'm listening to them live completely sober.
But when I'm longboarding around boston baked out of my mind late at night, there's nothing like throwing on some MMJ to give me that old time feeling. I guess I just tend to let my mind drift when I'm baked and I want to savor every single moment of a Jacket show so I can remember it forever.

But seriously. The way people act after whatever the hell these people are drinking is way more offensive than the smell of burning mj. I'd rather someone blow any kind of smoke directly in my face than have to hear what some drunk chick behind is screaming into her cell phone during dondante. To each his own.

I say live and let live. Generally, I'll only puff if we're outdoors (of course exceptions do apply). Otherwise, I'll puff before I go in. For those of you going to holyoke, remember Massachusetts legalized it last year for personal use, so fear not, unless you have over an ounce, no one can legally hassle you.
Unfortunately, I gotta skip the show, can't make up North this week as I had planned. But, I will say that the only time I've ever seen anyone get busted at a show (and I've been to literally hundreds of shows over the last 25 years) was a Neil Young show at Mohegan Sun casino. The last song was "Roll Another Number" for the road, and two dudes near lit up and security grabbed him up like a bunch of Nazis.

This is my take as well. IMO, people drunk off their ass can be WAY more annoying than anyone burning some tree...
For what ever reason I took a hit of Ecstasy at the Telluride show and had one of the most amazing nights of my life. I have never felt better in my life when it started to rain during Steam Engine....i know it sounds cliche, but shit, rain and drugs feels really fuckin' good (Bonnaroo 08 anyone???)

definitely should do it. crispy treats are easier and possibly more potent since less heat is applied. you should get a half of chronic. make some butter and then make treats for sure. eat 'em like an hour, hour and a half before the show = perfect.
cookies are also awesome. I just don't like cooking the butter anymore than I have to. if I slick up the pan and melt the marshmallows and THEN put in the butter to me it feels like you risk burning it far less. or you could cool the butter and eat it on pieces of bread or cracks. it would be gross but get you seriously fucked up.
