THAT SHOUTING THING YOU ARE WHINING ABOUT IS JUST RETARDED ;D
AND I WILL DISREGARD YOUR SPEW 8)
ANYWAYS THIS MOVIE RULED[/glb]
[size=10]Yeah the movie dead man sure is weird but I liked it a lot. As a matter of fact, it still wanders through my mind. What the heck was this movie about???? But nevertheless great atmosphere and a very good soundtrack by ol' neil. But my favorite album is on the beach. Definitely his best. But I like all his albums, even the album of neil young and the shocking pinks. An 18' min lasting rock'n roll album. And concerning Greendale, whele this album still has to grow on me. Hmm, I think I didn't find the time, some how, to listen to it. I only heard it three or four times. Maybe that could be the reason. :o . But surely Neil Young has got it!!! he rules big time.
O don't matter the size of typing, I'm whispering[/size]

oh, so typing in all glow red letters isn't retarded? geesh, just tryin' give you a lesson in Internet Etiquette 101. but oh well, I guess we'll all start shoutin' and whatnot in italics...
[glb]SO YOUR A TEACHER ARE YOU ::)
I'LL PLAY WITH ALL THE OPTIONS THAT ARE HERE AND HAVE FUN DOIN IT 8)
SO TEACH YOU SEEN THE MOVIE I MENTIONED BUT CAN'T GET THE PIC TO WORK
I'M NOT SUPRISED I CAN'T GET IT TO WORK THOUGH ITS GOT 500 NUMBERS IN IT AND I PROBABLY NEED SOME LEARNING IN MY REMEMBERIN SKILLS ALSO ???[/glb]
that's all well and good, but normally, most folks consider typing in all caps as SHOUTING. so unless you SHOUT every word that comes out of your mouth, maybe you might want to switch to lowercase letters, that's all I'm saying. red letters, italics...no one cares bout that. it's the all caps thing.
[glb]I THINK SOME PEOPLE ARE LAME[/glb]NO I THINK LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE ANALDOWNRIGHT MORONIC EVENAND TO THOSE PEOPLEI REALLY ENJOY OFFENDING ;DTHINK I FUCKED UP MY RAINBOW OF ABSURDITY :P
[glb]I'LL HAVE TO WORK ON THAT ;D
NOW IF YOU GOT NOTHING TO ADD TO MY TOPIC ABOUT NEIL PLEASE STOP REPLYIN WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS ::)[/glb]
Hey guys, we're not fighting over lettertypes are we? these options are here to use but hey hey, my my, let's not go too crazy or drastic measures will have to be taken. like removing the beloved glow option! ohhh noooo, please don't let it come that! just try to keep it easy on the eyes.
bleed... lowercases rule man. you don't know what you're missin ;)
my fav Neil Young? bought On The Beach last week and can't stop listening... wow.
and I love Dead Man. brilliant.

Rust Never Sleeps, best NY album, IMHO
(ahem) No one other than Riny can boss us all around these parts, ya hear? Off topic? Are you kidding?
Wait, I just realized that now I am as UNMELLOW as O. The agony! ;)
BLEEDforever, if you're looking for a site for chatty comebacks and put downs, this ain't the place...Jim wouldn't have it.
When I really need it, really need to get in touch with that inside stuff that doesn't want to seem to come out? I have to go with--Tonight's the Night. ALWAYS works (but I don't ALWAYS reach for it; don't want to spoil a good thing)
Suprise top 7 favorite Neil Young album>>> Freedom (front to cover) :P
It's a tie b/w Live Rust & After the Gold Rush
QuoteWait, I just realized that now I am as UNMELLOW as O. The agony! ;)
[glb]Me? Unmellow?! YOU FOOL![/glb]
Oh, and I love that shiny stuff, by the way. Adds a little colour to this place. :)
And as for Neil Young, I've still never heard
Tonight's the night and
On the beach, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I really love
Zuma.
after the goldrush and tonights the night
hands down on the beach. i glad to see so many people are into that. has anyone heard american stars 'n bars? i've heard a few songs off that. would anyone recommend it? tonight's the night is another one... does anyone know about that compilation neil young is supposed to put out w/ rarities, hits, flops, etc.?
Have to say the first one, Neil Young.
- Tons of reverb and guitar/vocal effects.
- Unbelievable version of Old Laughing Lady (if all you know is the folk version, get this one and listen to it driving down an empty parkway on a foggy night at 2 in the morning). Follow the drum beat in the second verse, very unique. Female vocals at the end will blow you away.
- Last Trip to Tulsa...try to figure this one out. I think it's about some kind of drug-induced reincarnation dream.
If I were to suggest a good sampler for someone new to Neil, I'd have to say Tonight's the Night. Good variety of all of his genres and sounds. Plus the best Neil song ever, Albuquerque.
Albuquerque?!? you're the first person i've ever heard say that... seriously. the first neil young record is great too. does anyone have the complete rock 'n roll cowboy set? i'm missing one...
Yeah, but the lead-in guitar is damn near perfect.
American Stars N' Bars is pretty much a country album. Star of Bethlehem and Hold Back the Tears are standout songs. A couple of country rock tunes and the same old worn out LAH you've heard a thousand times. Definitely worth tracking down.
If you can find it transferred to CD, Time Fades Away is a good rarity to have. It's basically Tonight's the Night, Disc 2.
[glb]stars+bars is fuckin great ;D
i demand you listen to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/glb]

[glb]saddle up your palimino the sun is goin down the way i feel is much to real ;D[/glb]
The compilation that Brian asked about has been rumoured for years, working title of 'the archives' I believe. The book 'Shakey' talks about it quite a lot, Neil works on it from time to time apparantly but it may never see light of day.
Here are my top 5 fav NY records:
1.Tonight's the Night
2.Rust Never Sleeps
3.Time Fades Away
4.Greendale
5.Ragged Glory
tonight's the night
rust never sleeps/live rust
after the gold rush
comes a time
on the beach
ragged glory
Live Rust and Tonights the Night. Mmmmmmmmm class
I can't believe no-one's mentioned 'Everybody knows this is nowehere' so I just have. Classic tracks like Cinnamon Girl, Down by the River, Cowgirl in the Sand. It's up there with One the Beach and Tonight's the Night, making a trilogy of freakin greatness
[glb]my pal used to awaken us on saturday morns with big bowls of green love and that record playin through his awesome denon set up ;D
boy i miss bein 18 and free![/glb]
Zuma. followed closely by Time Fades Away
hey, i got the stars 'n bars album last week. i've grown very attached to it. thanks for the advice! any other music people are listening to worth recommending?
Ragged Glory!
Good to see so many people mentioning On The Beach. I guess the recent CD reissue has a lot to do with that. My vinyl copy cost me 40 quid about 5 years ago. But worth every penny. Now if only Neil would stop being so bloody awkward and release Time Fades Away on CD.
Top Five Neil Young:
1. On The Beach
2. After The Goldrush
3. Everybody Knows....
4. Sleeps With Angels
5. Zuma
