you know, thanks for reminding me of that. after renting the big lebowski on dvd recently, i did some searching and lo and behold...up comes the lebowski fest.

Hey- I saw that the Lebowski/Louisville fest was highlighed in the current issue of Spin (the one w/Thom on the cover)...YAY! GO LOUISVILLE!!! ;D
No surprise - other nods were given to Bonnaroo and Field Day...and, of course, I'm still sittin' pretty waiting for the gods to send me tickets to one or both of those fests, but I ain't holdin' my breath...My life's crazy from now until mid-july. :P

omg...how is it that i had never ever heard of such a fabulous thing? this should be proudly posted on every louisville-related website and in every louisville tourism brochure EVER. it's....beautiful. and it's at the good ol' rose bowl, one of the old high school hangouts...much better (although less adventurous) and toothful than fern bowl, i must say.
Man, I should have known that some Jacket heads would be down for the Lebowskifest. I'm coming all the way from Boston. OK, that's not the most arduous trek, but whatever. I note that MMJ is in Edmonton the night before the Lebowskifest. I wonder if JJ & Co. could make it back in time to enjoy some of the festivities. With all the Mr. Show references, I wouldn't be surprsied to find he's a Lewbowski fan, too. How great would it be if MMJ was bowling and drinking caucasians with the rest of us dorks?
And, what's up with the DCN shows, that are supposed to be posted? Do you think Dave Matthews is all "You're in the majors now, kid. No more free content." I'm kidding, but, seriously, where they at?

One of the two founders of the Lebowski fest was the first person to ever join the MMJ fan club. There is an empire of quality forming in the heart of good ole Louisville.
I bought my plane tickets to Nashville last night. My friend and I are doing a night there, then rolling into Louisville for the festivities on Friday.
Is there any chance I could find some vintage MMJ shirts anywhere in Louisville? Remember way back when the merch page was up they had a black shirt with drawings of everybody's heads and bullet holes. It had a real southern rock vibe that was rather charming. I'm still kicking myself for not ordering one back in the day. But, seriously, if anyone knows a way I could get my hands on one of those, that would make my day. I'm sure the prospects are dim, but I had to ask.

Hey, were y'all there at the Fest? I was going to have the MC page you all, but there were sooooo many people there I thought you'd be havin' a great time regardless.
I was puttering around in my MMJ shirt, spouting off bush leauge bullshit, and whatnot...
Oh I was there all right. Drunk as a skunk, a caucasian in my right hand, a beer in my left all night. Never got to bowl. I got to meet Jeff Dowd. That ol' boy is a pro at the drinking, I tell you. He tried to sign my shirt "the Dude abides," but he left out the word "dude". I was with my partners, including my li'l bro, who is a dead ringer for the Dude without even trying, but the poor guy was robbed of the bowling pin trophy.
Oh, good times.
