Mr. Rehrig - He said things like "cheep cheep cheep" when we played nukem, and he also rode his bike to school and parked it in his office (the boiler room). I rememember he would always wear windpants and a polo...classy. Other games Mr. Rehrig used to have us play would be: Kickball, Bombardment, Dodgeball, Parachute, and obstacle courses involving these little scooters with wheels that you'd scoot across the lunchroom floor on. I think he was secretly in love with Mrs. Moyle.
Mr. Wells - Mr. Wells had a mustachio. He was also balding, but not that bad. I remember when he would lose his temper and even sent Joe Rafeneillo to the principals office for picking on Tim Miller. Tim smelled and Joe called him on it. Unfortunately, Mr. Wells didn't stand for that. Mr. Wells was more of a sportsman, and used his imagination less than Mr. Rehrig. Mr. Wells drove a red pickup truck to work and only had us play kickball, basketball, or softball. He wasn't much of an "outside the box" free thinker like Mr. Rehrig. I also think Mr. Wells had a crush on Mrs. Ludgwig, our art teacher.
I won't go into my Hikes School gym teachers just yet, I need to take a break and go bunt or something. I miss you guys and....

We called him Mr. Blackheart. He wasn't that bad though. Actually, he was pretty cool to us, but that's because we were seniors, and seniors rule the high school gym class. But if you weren't cool, or didnt try and hated gym class, or just didnt have fun, he wasn't cool to you. He loved physical education, and wanted everyone else too.

middle school was Coach Robinson, the head football coach..he wasn't there very long
high school..the 2 semesters i took it was Coach Parker, the head basketball coach...senior year we got paddlings from him for lowering the basketball goal and playing dunk ball on a day he wasn't there

We had a female gym teacher that was a dike as well...not gonna post her name though...just in case she is reading(yeah right),but what I thought was wrong was that she was the womens gym teacher,meaning she was in the womens locker room when the girls were naked...I guess you can smell what I am cooking.I ask you then,if there was a male gym teacher and he was gay,should he be allowed in the boys locker room? Seems people look the other way until it is a gay male gym teacher.

Well, just to clarify, I think it's totally fine for her to be teaching the girls, even to be in the changeroom with them or whatever. And I also think that there shouldn't be discrimination for gay men, either.
For some reason, though, society seems to be more accepting of lesbians than it is of gay men.
My personal opinion of why that might be is this: (remember, this is only my opinion) Women tend to be more comfortable with other women in general, and men tend to be more uncomfortable with other men (especially gay men)...
That might be a reason?

That is a good point and they wouldn't know until they hired the person.Stuff like that always gets out and my point was just what EC said...society is more excepting of one than the other.I would suspect that the parents would force them to fire a gay male in that situation.
If it were my son,I would not want him in the locker room with a gay male gym teacher...and same if I had a daughter in the reverse situation.
Thing is, I think that reinforces the stereotype that all gay people are out of control, nymphomaniacs or pedophiles. Not all straight people are out of control nyphomaniacs or pedophiles, but some are.
The stereotype that gay people are pedophiles is so 1972. I guess the only reason I mentioned that my gym teacher was a lesbian is because I secretly had a crush on her, and was too young/naive to know what a lesbian is. When I got a little older, and found out she lived with another woman, I was floored. Small towns are weird like that.
Plus, she gave me CPR, and she saved me. So she's forever in the shrine of all time good people.
Now my German teacher, that's another story.... ;)

I have a few gay teacher friends, two of whom are outrageously camp and nobody seems to comment. I've certainly never heard of anybody's job at risk because of it. A paedophile is a paedophile whatever their orientation and you can't tell by looking at them. That's why they get away with it I guess. That reminds me of a line from an Addams family film. Wednesday is going to a fancy dress party in her usual clothes. When asked wh she is, she gives that sinister look and says "I'm a serial killer. We look like everybody else."

Okay, I do remember Mr. Latham in grade five. He was just our "teacher", which meant he did everything. But he used to get REALLY uncomfortable around things like sex-ed and the like, and I remember he would turn the most maroony beet like colour of red. So of course, we caught on to that, and used to dare each other to ask the most embarassing questions we could think of.
