Okay, I've commented in the past about my ongoing fight with kidney stones. Yesterday, I had the "feeling" one was about to rear it's ugly self right before I left work...
So, I get in the car and start driving. If you're from the area here, you know there was a bad bus accident on the Watterson yesterday...so there I am, sitting in traffic for ONE SOLID HOUR, while I have a soulchubby sized kidney stone about to break on through to the other side...and no astroglide to be found anywhere!
Finally, I make it home, down a few painkillers, eat an entire pizza, and lo and behold, I deliver a fine specimen to shrieks and hollering that I'm sure were heard miles away...it was almost 7 before this happend. Soooooooo....for almost 3 hours, it was AGONY.
Take care of yerselves, youngins...this stuff sucks donkey ass! ;D
Jesus!
That Astroglide bit would've had me spewing milk out of my nose, had I been drinking milk when I read it.
How do I prevent this from happening to me?!
Wow you were brave. I'd have been screaming for a general anaesthetic. Did you ever go for the ultrasound thing? Did it do any good? (or is this the good it did?).
All the best anyway John.
hahaha
drink LOTS of orange juice or cranberry juice, or even lemonade. acidic acid apparently helps break em up.
no sound treatment yet...so i'm sure more will be forthcoming.
it's funny now, but at the time, it was NOT. glad I can laugh about it.
Fortunately, I have never had one myself, but a buddy of mine had a bad one a while back.
He went home and drank a case of beer to help get through it. His theory was that if he needed to drink plenty of liquids to help pass it, that he might as well be feeling as little pain as possible in the process. He said it worked pretty well, all things considered.
:)
I've found that bourbon is helpful...
bourbon, is there anything it can't do? ;)

Meg, I think you're missing some of the equipment to become a monk ;). You may qualify for nun status tho'...
