This was just a really quick sketch while listening to Iron Maiden's
Quest For Fire, so maybe I should just call it Quest For Fire? The name doesn't really matter, though... It took probably took 5 minutes or so to complete, minus the time it took to scan and add some of the highlighting color. I like doodling overly animated characters, and the vikings with guitars thing is just too cool not to play out some more - this one is supposed to have a bass guitar slung behind his back...

I don't know yet! Whenever I download a new show, I always make a cover for it with the windows program paint. Nothing two fancy but it just makes it a little extra special. I only do it with MMJ shows! I think I will save your art for one of his solo sets coming up with John Prine. Hopefully somebody gets at least one of them. Anyone?
See this link for the ones I did for the covers project that AMD put together.

just wondering where your talent came from. [smiley=huh.gif]
Well, shucks... *insert blush face*
:D
What talent I have, I thank god for.
any updates on the mural, brad?
The Mural is pretty much finished... I turned it in with my portfolio for Finals, and ended up getting a B+ or so altogether (I could have had an A, but I only turned in two t-shirt designs and that drawing). I was going to go ahead and get some lithographs of the Okonokos mural made for Christmas, but there simply wasn't enough time to get all of that handled.
I'll need to find a good printer, open relations with them so that I can trust them to do good work without ripping me off... Then I need to finalize a logo for an embosser (I plan to emboss the MMJ prints with an okonokos style logo), figure out how many prints I can realistically sell (like, five), and on and on.
So, now I'm just trying to find some time in the day to do anything. Christmas season at work has been pretty rough - I packed and mailed over 70 prints/vignettes in their packages from scratch just yesterday... today has been a little quiet - too quiet.

So, today I put the Okonokos piece on the large format scanner... This is a true-scan with some half-assed Photoshopping to clean up smudges. The screens here aren't so hot, so there'll probably be alot of missed spots - and the brightness is likely out of control, as well.
Anyway, the point is - I'm going to be calling some printers soon and seeing if I can't get a short run of art prints made. I'll probably only have 100 made - plus 10 Artist Proofs.

Creativity can make up for talent (which i think you have anyway). You deffinately have loads of creativity. Your style is just different than Brad's, not inferior. How old are you? 15, 16? You're at a way different level than I was at that age, you'll only get better.
You can't criticize your work based on someone else's... instead you have to stay focused on besting yourself, and surprising yourself by constantly improving. Your style is way out there, it's your signature style - something I didn't have at 15, and still don't have at 22. There's no comparison - so how can you say it's inferior?
Anyway, don't get discouraged, sweets. This last piece of yours is very cool, I like the freehanded symmetry you've got going there.
Whenever I see your artwork Face I think of Damien Rice's album covers:

In other news, the Okonokos Mural has been at the press for a week or so... I'll be going in later this week to proof the setup before the prints are run. There will be 250 prints made, so there's your first heads up on that. Once I see the proof, I'll start taking pre-orders, if anyone is interested. I'll probably offer some sort of pricecut or added 'something' for those earlier orders.

Oh man, that is wonderful. Love it.
Well you guys inspired me to do something artistic again. I hadn't really done much since high school and I have very little natural ability, but I make up for it with patience and drafting techniques. Anyway, I thought doing my new babies room would be a way for me to do something fun and productive at the same time so I thought I would share the results with you. It's a Formula One racing theme based on the BMW Sauber F1.06 Car. The funky pattern on the wall is the graphic that is on the nose of the car. I realize that I am probably one of only about seventeen F1 fans in the US, but it's something that I am very passionate about. Anyway, that's a whole different subject. This is just about the art.....
(By the way, my best work was performed while listening to The Mysterious Production of Eggs. I would suggest this technique to all artists. ;) 3-17-01 KVRX Radio show was a close second!)

Yeah my father used to be a big fan. He even travelled to Brazil and Canada just to watch F1. I think in Europe he´s been to a lot of races (Germany, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Monaco, France, Belgium, Spain...). But somehow he lost his interest. He met once Ayrton Senna at the airport in Lisbon. He was a big fan of him and visited his grave when he was in Brazil.
Have you been at the Indianapolisrace wheere the disaster with the tyres happened? I think it was 2005....I´m not sure about that!
Yep, that was my very first "live" race! Pretty dissappointing. I did get free tickets for last year which made up for it somewhat. My next goal is to go to the Canadian GP and then, I think in '09 they are bringing back the Mexican GP at an all new track in Cancun. But my ultimate goal is to someday go to the Nurburgring for the German GP. Have you ever driven your car thru the green hell?

Quotelook at your bear!! that's terrific! can you make him dance?

Hey thanks! Ya, he can dance - not too well because my holes weren't lined up properly but the point gets made. He's only about 7 inches from head to toe. I think he's pretty fuckin cool. Now I have metal fever and I can't wait to make something else.... but I have to wait for payday.

Here is a few shots (before and after) of my kitchen. Not really artistic but it's one of the few talents I have. I do have a few paintings I did that I'll try to get some pics of.

I would love to live in that house.

This sketch is from a few years ago, but i've added to it here and there over time. I've been thinking about making this a painting. Its called "The Smoker".
As promised. Here are 2 paintings I have done recently. I'm learning to enjoy oils. Strangely, I find it very relaxing.

Very cool. I like the finish.
Thanks - I discovered "liver of sulfer" and it patina's copper beautifully! That, some colored pencil plus a little sandpaper make things look nice and worn.
Oh, and face, if you're talking about my bear, despite what you may have heard, I'm not REALLY Tracy. My mustache is much bigger. (and my music collection is no doubt much smaller! ;)

Nice work. I like the top one better. How is it strange to think its relaxing? I think its relaxing myself. I think the fumes from the paint and turpatine might have something to do with it too. Its a satisfying feeling when something comes out like you wanted it to.

Thanks. The second one is more "fun" for the kids playroom. Didn't come out quite like I hoped but they like it.
Good point on the smells. That and copious amounts of vodka and MMJ playing the background doesn't hurt either. Strange for me as I don't relax. My previous post (the kitchen) was my recent vacation. Not the sitting on the beach soaking up the rays type.
Strange how things can jog your memory. This one was dug up recently. We made them during class back in elementary school, i was probably in second or third grade. I vaguely remember it like a foggy dream.

Been going through lots of old stuff and found a "drawing" from 1st grade. Seemed fitting for this first nice day in awhile. Hope you are all well. :)

Just a few new ones --
Sold a bunch that I never got to scan in, which is a bummer. they went for 20 bucks, though. I donated them to a fundraiser and ended up making a hundred bucks for them.

more to come, I guess, sometime.
I absolute adore your work! I'd love to purchase one in the future.

gee, thanks! :)
I've been really focusing on my drawings, recently, and it's sort of led to my distraction from everything else.
I'm thinking about printing t shirts.
It'll be fun, I think, if I ever get the motivation to do it!
I've got to have a t-shirt. The new ones are kickass by the way.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. ;D
Here is some stuff I did this winter. I like 3d, but that's probably because i can't draw for shit. haha.

Quite pleased, indeed, as you well should be. I would be too if I drew nearly as charmingly as you! Oh if those t-shirts ever happen, count me in! I love your details; reminds me of a dear departed friend of mine who put lots of Morroccan-style into his drawings. (Sadly, lost him to prostate cancer about a year and a half ago, but I proudly hang his "Ships" on my living room wall and think of him fondly.)
Keep up the fantastic work, Face!
Face, the more I look at your work the more I like it. There is something about this one that intrigues me. I think that is my high school history teacher, Mr. Mathews. Do you know him?

you're right. I just looked back through this thread and Face's stuff gets better and better.
Any artistic updates from anyone else? Brad? Ali? etc....?
Another excellent piece Face!
Do you put much thought into something like that before you start & do you just put pen to paper (it's ink right?) & go with the flow?
QuoteAnother excellent piece Face!

it depends. it's all just fountain pen. but see, i'm trying to get to the point where i'm confident enough with just "going with the flow". a lot of the time i have to be under (some sort of) an influence when that happens, but they usually don't turn out too well.
i used to do a lot my stuff with pencil and then trace it over with ink. but the biggest problem with that is im' a terrible perfectionist. so i'd erase my pencil over and over and distract from what i was actually trying to get at. i still sometimes use pencil, but i like the confidence that a pen provides...
tonight was just pen. my biggest problem wtih my work is that it all sort of looks similar. i gotta branch out a little. adapt a little. stretch it a little. someday i will. i think i'm progressing.
anyway, sorry for hogging this thread. i had to put this one up ;-).
thanks, everyboddddy
(...and of course i know Mr. Mathews, BH...)
Thanks for the detailed reply.
I keep meaning to take up painting again. I want to paint a picture of my parents house in Spain to give to them as a present but I just can't seem to get started...
Wow, fountain pen? That's super cool. Have you seen those disposable fountain pens? They stock them in the supply room at my work and I LOVE them, even though they don't love me back. They have good hand feel despite being a tosser. (Insert peanut gallery here.)

At you're age you'll progress lots. Don't worry about that. Creatively, you're at a college level already. As good as you are, or think you are; you'll learn tons in college-if you get the right teachers.

hey friends-
i made a run of prints that were inspired by some stuff I'm doing for EC. I have about ten left, so if anyone's interested in buying one, send me a little message. My love don't come cheap but I'm sure we can make a deal.
They're 15" x 19" Lithographs. Oh and the only thing different on the final version is that the "Oh Crap" is printed in bright red.

He's also recently put out a Graphic Novel (not a full blown comic, but has several amazing illustrations) called WASTED LANDS. This is one of his larger creative steps, I think, because he has spearheaded the project and it's his creation. I bought the book just continue supporting his work, and it turned out to be pretty good. It's got some Zombies and stuff, it's cool.

Nice! I have all of those same prints but only limited editions and not the proofs. The one with the stormtroopers on Tatooine is my favorite of all of them.

Love the Cash drawing.
I've always loved the Wedge Antilles one, never caved and bought it, though... If Tim Bradstreet would print his Baron Fel painting at the same dimensions as Dorman's Antilles, that'd make for a sweet companion piece.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've updated my Online Portfolio with a image viewing script. This will enable images to pop up on the same window, instead of creating a new one. It looks much more professional, and it allows me to write captions under the artwork, so that people don't have to guess what the title is based on the actual file name (because more often than not, the filename isn't the title of the art).
I've added a sketch of a puffin, which was commissioned by one of the fine lady's here at this forum.
Make sure to wait until the page is totally finished loading. This will allow the script to feed. It may take a few seconds for the image to load up, but as long as you've got patience, it'll pay off nicely.
http://theartofbradsmith.com/Portfolio.html
Just had a look. Brad, these are great, especially my puffin :D
:D
Yeah, I think it's so much better now with the "light box" effect... I always hated that the images just opened in a window.

Very Todd Parr-esque. My 4 year-old loves drawing from Todd Parr books, she calls it "drawing Todd faces". She's getting really good. Love it.
thanks! :)

I'm a vivid dreamer... The illustration is straight out of the sketchpad I keep on my bedstand. I used to just call it my book of nightmares, but this one in particular wasn't necessarily a bad dream... it was just creepy.
He was elderly, wrinkled, pale. He had hair like Moses, with a huge white beard. He was toothless, except for a pair of canines on his lower jaw - with the beard, the fangs jutted out gave him an odd resemblance to a Lion.
He had a bright, glowing eye, so when he squinted, light peaked through and shone like a beam from a lighthouse...
Wow, I love the story. I think it's the best MMJ related piece you've done. It would make a nice album cover.

Dali had some amazing stuff. I've never studied his work fully, though, so I'm just being honest when I say I'm only familiar with his most popular stuff... One thing I do love about his surrealism is the way he takes horses and elephants and extends the legs...
I love letting brush strokes go way, way out of line and abstract, so this is an idea that I'm sure I will borrow and make my own, someday.
Hopefully
very soon I will have a new piece to show off. I have been wanting to record a zeppelin from one of my dreams... Zeppelins are a reoccurring object in my dreams, and I have a few really good rough sketches in my head... I just haven't had the time to actually sit down and jot it down on art board. Actually, I've been wanting to airbrush this. My last airbrush project took over a year to complete, so I'm reluctant to start something that may take that long to set aside and say "it's finished"....

really gorgeous work!
Another new ink sketch. I was doing some studies of early American wartime aviators, and for whatever reason liked the way this one turned out... See for yourselves! (click for enlarged picture)

Those are sweet Brad. I like your pencil stuff.
Hey I was going to ask you, I've had my old Dave Dorman stuff in a tube for a lonnnnggg time. Is it bad to store it that way? Should I find a flat place for it? Is that a stupid question?

Dunno how I overlooked thjs for three mpnths - but I think your prints are safer in a tube thana anywhere else, unti; ypou can get them framed. Oh, and all of my Dorman prints are holding their color very well - on display for probably 5 years and no fading at all, so when you finally drag them out, they should be in great shape!
Face, i love your work - i wsh youd share with us more often!
thanks brad! :) i'll tryand get some more stuff up sometime soon... or something.
lets see some of you too! pwease!
okay, gemme a second to upload somethin

nice brad.
I guess this is a poem.....
"Wet and Breathing"That Monkey has got red and blue paint;
he slaps his feet,
day after day in the in-between lanes of the interstate.
He's Giant, sloshing paint in your unbelievable eyes....
You Stop.............
You Stop.............
and be Free...
and be Free...
take a look.................
It's a sign......
You're covered in paint.

I'm trying to post a new painting but its not working, using imageshack. its not like i haven't done this before wtf.
Ok i'm pretty sure imageshack is fucked for some reason.
Oil on canvas. Working titles: "The Smoker", "The Smoker or Don't Ask Me Why His Eyes Are Two Different Colors". Based on a sketch below.

fuck it, its back in this thread if you really want to see it.
On second thought, I'm not sure if this is finished yet. I like the background but it could be better, the smoke blends in a little too much, i want more of a contrast. I'm considering painting a new background, maybe a deep Blue Velvet style blue. Thoughts anyone?
wow! i was just thinking a thread like this would be a great idea, and here it's been all along! who knew?
true, i agree that more contrast with the bg would look good.
i do a lot of sewing and knitting. this is a pic of a quilt i finished last spring.
i took this pic before i'd finished the quilting and put the binding on (you can see a bunch of safety pins in the blue border). it's about 4 x 5'. the fabrics are all batiks and overdyes.
here's a detail shot:

Holy shit, can I buy this from you when it's finished?
I'm still not sure what I want to do with it, but I'll keep you up to date!
I need to draw a badass shark.
yes!
the whale and squid is terrific! more bad ass sea life!
How about a badass bear holding a shark above his head?

Jane Seymour is a fine example of that...

Raytracing is a method of rendering a 3D scene by simulating how light rays would reflect into a simulated camera for each pixel in the image. All of the parameters (objects, light, camera) for the scene are set programmatically, either thru a user interface or directly in a text file.

wow! nice work, paul! i dig the fleur de lis repetition.
I think bbill said I should post this here, so here goes. I may put up another couple here and there if anyone's interested. also, my friend, Caroline, liked this one enough that she asked if she could compose a motet around it. That's one hell of an honor. You better believe I said yes. Can't wait to hear what she makes out of it...
The Moon's Song
Inside the soft howl of bedded crickets
Midnight became unclouded
And I could not, from cold lips,
Grant the hour justice.
In soft wind, I raised the question of truth,
Declining myself the beauty of that moment—
All its beauty nothing more than a moment.
The gilded moon glows for no man's praise,
Nor do the insects pine in song for its light.
The moon glows. The crickets sing.
And that is all we need know of night.
ah hell, here's another:
my love, the black of night
my love, the black of night
from which all daylight's beauty springs—
and I asleep, secure in dream
ask no home but she—
the heart that beats behind the breast
from which I raise my head from rest
to return each darkened eve...
and in her still, black beauty, night
shall exhale as in her I breathe,
and Love shall find two breaths made whole
as her chest fall, I rise to meet—
between the two, horizon drawn
she, falling sun—I, fluxing sea—
then, through red and purple, dark
and though the eye should strain to see
sky and sea's division marked,
as both are black, in darkness
freed.

Tom, great stuff here, man!. That last stanza gets me; especially the last line. I'd really like to read more. I think you can really tell a lot about someone from their poetry. "I'd just as soon play tennis with the net down-Rober Frost" ;D
I also enjoyed My Love, The Black of Night. Lighthearted throughout but poignant on the rhyming lines. It has this
thick feeling too it, and I like it! Maybe if you post a few more then I can "force" myself to get one(two, three, four) on here.
Anyone else out there too. Don't be shy; we have cookies.
Dude, don't be shy! Here's the other I wrote this semester. Imitating Yusuf Komunyakaa.
A Smoke With The Moon
Breathing Apollo's dirty hand jive at the moon,
that broken lantern for a belly
Is all I know of midnight.
Twisting shadows across my wall
Through trees and beaten blinds,
I curse its sojourner's path
As too regular to be authentic.
My soul never knew the moon,
Never sang the stars or
drank in the chicory black til it
Staggered out the door
into the garden to lament
The small brown headstones
of forgotten perennials
Wilted and now stiff in
late November frost.
No, the sound of wind
through the bowing willows
Only shifts the shadow against
my face, cold against
The linoleum and whispering an empty
prayer that I could know love
On the empty side of my bed,
sheets thrown to the floor.

and thanks so much. i wrote a song that had a similar idea as the poem, and I think I wrote the poem second. I'm not into posting lyrics of my own, but the first line is this:
My love,
two handfuls of earth
longing to become a flowerbed,
someday a garden...

It's so... bare and disclosed. You've got a nice flow about your poems, man. For what it's worth:
The Suspense Is TerribleThe suspense is terrible, I hope it'll last
Will he rise or remain there steady?
Is his fate to perish in this tunnel of filth
To meet the standards of the common and petty?
To rise or remain there steady
To feed those lives more ready
Can he be trusted with taste?
Can the filth do more than baste?
His spirit has no luminous side
Dark sheets cloud his disdain
The thoughts within him curve and collide
This is where his hate is contained
He will remain there steady
His lies keep him ready
And when his term is leased
On him, will the people feast
No Where To LeanThis seems like some type of original display;
The way you gaze at the screen.
I, for one, cannot hide my dismay
When you, YOU leave me no where to lean.
I cannot seek solace when they misinform
And you, YOU can only sympathize.
What meaning is there to continue standing
When gravity does not always try?
No chance of a break for worn out legs.
These events in time have torn us.
I search for a rail or chair to rest,
But I seep through them by lack of trust.
I grasp at the seat which holds my name
To find it laced with despair.
I find out my name must be taken
If I'm to ever be included in a pair.
But there sits my name, letters composed,
No one willing to see me bore.
Being alone will not help me barter
When I have no one to grow for.
So, chair or none, I still move ahead;
Lay out my heart for a few to see.
Put behind me all that I did dread,
Tear down walls that hinder me from being.

then put your url/link where it says here

hey, it's pretty easy, actually! you see all those little buttons above the text box when you go to make a post? just hit the one that looks like it has a portrait on it. top row, third from the left. it'll pop up with the "img" tags. and you just want to post your image link in between the two tags. Say I wanted to post a picture of how awesome Tom Selleck is.
I'd hit that button or just type in the code and it gives me img inside a set of brackets and then another "img" in brackets, but this time with a forward slash preceding the "img"inside the brackets. In between the middle two brackets -- the ][ -- I'd slap my picture link ( http://www.quirkcollective.com/images/SelleckMagnum.jpg ) and voila:

thanks guys! also, tom selleck KICKS ASS! I have been trying to grow that moustache for some time now, but alas, once again, I fail.
anywho, here are some photos of my paintings. i'm currently going through and trying to edit all these photos, but i will try to post all the good stuff here throughout the week.
This one is of my great-great-grandmother. I did this last year, fall semester (fall '07); at the time I was working from old family photos.

And this one if of my great-grandfather Daniel (on left) and his brother Henry. These guys are so cool and hip, I wish I could've known them.

For the past year, I have been painting landscapes. Soon, I will post some of them....
okay, i will just post some more now. st. john, i'm afraid i can't email you this shit because gmail hates me right now.
These are from my series of landscapes from Fall 2008. All of them go together, yet each can stand on its own. They each have long titles, taken from songs and readings that have inspired me in the past six months.
the first one: "No matter how it ends--until the body is combed into the water and one with the weeds--growing there"
"I am trying to break your heart--to make all flights from this nest, all forays, to keep hunting there"
"In the morning on the fields of green--it is always there inside the head, and will it stay there always?"
"In the homeland we've never seen--the child sees intense color in complete simplicity"

Breathtaking. Thank you for sharing.

I am also interested in the answer to this question. These are so incredible. I wish I had a better vocabulary for art, because I feel like all I could say about these are so lacking. I'm completely enthralled by the clouds in your first landscape picture.
Absolutely love the painting of your grandmother, too.

the sky and sea thing--- a lot of people have been discussing the marine aspects of the paintings. but i live in the desert and rarely go to the ocean. i've been to the ocean more in dreams. but i spose i've been reading about the ocean a lot.
rant rant rantrantrant.

Love it!!! So much.
Meggha, your artwork is awesome!!!!! :)
thank you, everyone. i really appreciate it.
I just sold the one of my great-grandfather, but all the others are available for purchasing. If you are seriously interested in buying something, please message me.
Again, thank you for all the kind words and appreciation. It's so nice to be on this forum!
Anyone else, art art? I want to see more!
Also, I've finally taken the time to go through all of these pages and look at the work. Great stuff, everyone! mjk73, I love those paintings you posted on p. 8, the colors and compositions are great, reminds me a bit of Sonia Delaunay, one of my favorite painters.
I'm also enjoying all the illustration/cartoon work you guys do. This is an area that I could never be good at, and I greatly admire anyone who can work this way. Personally, my recent works have been made more from imagination and less from observation. I am attempting to make imagination my only source material.
Quote. I am attempting to make imagination my only source material.
That's how I work, mostly.

Yes, I could see that a bit from what you've posted here. The imagination is probably the most powerful source for art. as Gauguin said, "I close my eyes in order to see."
Beautiful painting meggha!
Great paintings Meggha :o
Judging by those ones of your great grandparents, I think you should try a painting of JJ rocking out sometime

sanks. sadly, the only things I've done in a while. Haven't had the time or the inspiration latley. Actually I'm staring at the green and blue geometric one right now as it's in my living room.

yes, i've always imagined painting rock stars that i admire. but i feel like so many people do this, and are doing it so well, why should i do the same? but i won't rule it out; i never try to limit myself when it comes to art-making.
I tried to paint bob dylan recently, but i can't draw hands, so the hand he was resting his face on was complete shit. i painted a landscape over it.

Here are all ten paintings lined up. they are actually much larger than this, but i didn't want to hurt you guys by trying to see them all together in large format on a tiny screen. they are currently up all together in my favorite cafe. i'm hoping to find them a permanent home/viewing space in my hometown.

These are the titles that i wrote up. a poet friend of mine also wrote titles, but i don't have them with me.
1. No matter how it ends, combed into the water and the weeds
2. Break your heart keep hunting there
3. Morning on green fields, will it stay there always inside the head?
4. We've never seen the simple homeland
5. Seize this nest like prey from a grey distance
6. On the other side, my heart can't wait to meat you
7. I'm not (t)here, brooding, I'm gone
8. It's about twilight now in the stream
9. On this emptiness floats a child's play of vacillating colors
10. No matter how it starts, this is the back of the uncultivated mind, our idea of paradise
and also, sorry they came out in a block format. i wanted them to be all in one line because all ten line up together. also, i forgot to mention that the titles are a pastiche of quotes that were inspiring me in the fall. words and music play a huge part in my image-making. i'm sure most of you can recognize where a few of the quotes come from. ;)
I never noticed this thread before. There is some GREAT art on it. What a talented group of fans.
Ahhh I knew there had to be an art thread!! Nice to have found it.... whew, meggha's art is gorgeous!! Don't see her on here much anymore, it seems :(
Well this is by no means done yet, but I just had the urge to share it in its pre-complete stage... It's colored pencil on posterboard.... and it still has a little ways to go yet. The picture makes the outermost petals look a bit more pink than they really are.
I'll post again when it's either closer to being finished or is totally finished! I'm considering making all of the super dark shaded parts on the outer petals into petals too, but I'm not sure yet. I'm kind of at a stand-still a little...

Not yet. I shoot in JPEG, so any editing would be limited. Once I get around to buying higher capacity storage cards (and learning HOW to do some editing) I'll start to shoot in RAW.
Great stuff everyone! I peruse here quite often; this thread must never die :dankk2:

okay, i will just post some more now. st. john, i'm afraid i can't email you this shit because gmail hates me right now.
I hope they are never separated :)
meggha's art is tight, i haven't seen her in here in a long time. nice stuff blucas. i have a few drawings I've done recently but my printer broke so can't scan them. they might be a little bit too big for the scanner so maybe i'll use a camera.
Thx MNT! I look forward to some new stuff from you and enjoy the stuff already here. I used a simple i-phone camera for mine, which skewed the color substantially. Someday I'll research how to photograph them somewhat appropriately.
Here are a couple sketches

This is like an actual portrait of my cat Jun, who was a renowned snake-catcher once upon a time. Nothing like seeing your cat out the window, snake in mouth, rushing toward the cat door to bring you a present! I've never run so fast in my life!

Ha! I love that about cats. Like that one time when my cat Mushy barfed up onto the bed the three baby cardinals she had gobbled up from the nest just outside the living room window. Well, maybe not, but ah, memories.
