Some of you may recall Guy Burwell produced a series of 6 prints on wood that were sold at an art show (in New York City, I believe) a couple of years ago.
I noticed they're back up on his site (http://guyburwell.com/index.php?pagemode=display&active=poster&category=art%20print) and remain strangely familiar. Perhaps you, too, see the resemblance...

I missed the boat last time and emailed Guy (guybur@mac.com) about them. They were $30 ea. but I believe the set of 6 is $150.
Anyway, love his work and thought I'd share.
getting those FO SHO
with shipping, 205$ for the set. i shouldn't but i've been so mad over missing the LA poster that I have just been frantically searching for a print to spend money on. i won't even try to resist this.
edit: 165$ for the set, shipped
My fiance is going to kill me for opening this thread.
well I'm glad to own these now, and guy burwell, again, is a super nice guy
i just can't stop thinking about how incredibly stoked I am to own these. these, imo, are the holy grails of mmj art print merchandise. I think im going to hang a shelf over my TV just for these so everyone can see em.
As much as Ive scanned ebay and expresso beans, jumping on burwell's art when its a good price, these are what I've really always wanted.
So great, I just emailed Guy last friday asking about them! Thanks Guy!
And thanks for pointing it out Yac!
I really really really want these. So cool... if only I had more room!
realizing i pulled the trigger on these last night and very excited!
Good to see I'm not the only one inspired by these characters. I'm sure Guy is happy too. I started a collection of his MMJ in Portland posters, finding one here, one there, until all that remained was the first, his 2003. After nearly giving up, I emailed him, and a week later my collection was complete.

I've had similar experiences with Brandon Jones, though he's been a bit busy lately. Bottom line, it can't hurt to ask. Like Kory, I emailed about these prints last week and boom! they're back. As busy as these guys get, I think they always keep items on hand, sometimes even forgetting about them until a fan sends inquiry.

So so so hard not to buy the entire set right now.
I think the bear is a musssssssssst. Yes.

well, kinda bummed right now. I was emailing gb back and forth and finally we landed on him saying he'd email me tomorrow (which wouldve been yesterday) and I can just pay him not through the store, and I can take my time on payment, etc. Basically, he was hooking me up really really nicely, doing something he totally didn't have to do. But now, it seems as if he forgot and they ran out of Patricks. :(
that's a bummer man...
Just emailed me, he found one for me. :) :) :)

Guy is an all around good... um... guy.
awesome news, glad you got it! i gotta get myself a shelf for those bad boys so they have a home when they arrive.
Yeah I'm definitely buying a shelf for em.
And yes, he is a super nice guy. I sent him an email back and pretty much praised him, and told him he and MMJ go together like pb&j. He might be spooked by me. Stoked to have these though!
I bought these guys when they were first shown at the gallery in Portland. They have been sitting on a shelf in my dinning room ever since. Easily my favorite part of my MMJ collection.
The set that I have is numbered. There were 26 sets (I believe),
i'm happy to hear that Guy released another set for people to enjoy...I wonder if there are any differences between the first set and this new one

They're listed as part of a run of 26, so I believe these are what remains from the pieces available in the gallery. It was Portland? Do you remember when or the name of the gallery? I was looking for the original post, and for some reason thought it was in NYC.
I thanked Guy the other day for digging them up and re-running them and he responded and told me they were the original run.
yeah they're definitely the original run, I've had quite the conversation with him about this. After I praised him for his artwork he finally responded with "And what about handsome?" :)
seems like a good guy, makes me not feel as bad about spending so much money on some of his prints.

I believe the place was called the Screaming Sky Gallery.....
thats really cool if its all a part of the same original set
Just got these today. The bear actually has pooch written above the name on the back and then erased! They are hand numbered out of 26.
It looks like Jims and Patticks also had different names written in and were also erased? They are absolutely beautiful angelic representation of the band. Love love love them!
hey ya'all i just received mine today as well along with some surprise test prints of all of them (i had just ordered the bear) ill post photos when i have a chance

You have my hopes high (I only ordered the Bear too)!!!! Do you mind me asking which state you live in??
I'm in Alabama and it sounds like Guy is shipping from the NW, so maybe I have a day or two more to wait.
hey wams, you wanna post pictures of some test prints? Sounds really cool!
I live in NYC. took them a pretty short time to get here from when he emailed me. I'll post some photos this weekend for sho
He sent mine yeesterday, after he graciously held a set for me until I could pay him. Stoked!
Got mine today (WOW that was fast)!!
THEY ARE SO MUCH MORE AWESOME IN REAL LIFE. I feel like I have the MOST AWESOME piece of rock/MMJ merchandise I could possibly own. These are seriously my holy grail(s).
He sent me the last set when he thought they we're gone. So I have 3 from set 3, and 3 from set 22. If anyone has pieces to complete these we should trade!
I only got the YY print (20/26) and it looks f'n sweet in my apartment!
I first talked to Guy about bringing those art prints back and asked if he might consider doing them on paper. It appears he has. I received these today.
My set, all 6 pieces, are #5 of 35, screen printed on heavy stock watercolor paper. He threw in another set of 6, with more vibrant colors, a jazz theme, equally beautiful, all #20 of 35. And the personalized greeting on the outer wrapping.
Not sure how to display them. They're not all the same size. They'll hang in the portfolio with his posters while I mull it over.

Very, very cool prints.
Has anyone who received the wooden ones got a chance to display them yet? I'd love to see some pics of how they look in their element...
Those are super cool John. Have to say I like them
Better on wood. Burwell and you talk a lot or something?

I like the wood prints, too, but these were half the price. I've just emailed him a few times with questions or thoughts.
yeah my test prints are the same exact as that set (sorry i havent had a chance to post a photo) but now ya'll can see how dope they are. mine arent numbered however they just have burwells Hancock on them. they are for sure better on wood but i like the different sizes of paper. could be cool to frame them all seperately in different types of fancy frames and hang them in a nice row
If anyone is looking to sell or trade these, please send me a DM.
