Really great to relive these shows so soon after the weekend. I had a nice 4 hour drive today and squeezed most of both shows into the drive. It really was a spectacular two-nighter, both for setlist choices and raw performance. Some observations:
- Friday night opener "Tonight I want to Celebrate With You" was really special. Full electric performance gave me shivers from the get go.
- Best crowd singing I've heard on Wordless Chorus, providing just the right amount of reverb.I think I enjoyed the recording even better than my memories from the live performance.
- War Begun is my favorite MMJ song, and this one was for the books. Jim really nails the tapping section. You hear the crowd roar with approval afterward...
- Dondante was terrifying... love the metal riffs in the intro and middle sections.
- Tropics -> Dondante -? Early Morning Rebel -> Mahgeetah should close every main set forever
- The realization that they played 4 Evil Urges songs in the Friday night encore. I feel vindicated, I'm one of those Evil Urges lovers.
- Patrick's transition from Touch Me Part 2 to Cobra was spectacular.
- 3 more Evil Urges songs amongst the first 4 songs on Saturday! If you combine the end of night 1 with the night 2 openers that makes 7 EU cuts among 10 consecutive songs. Yes, I'm a geek.
- Crowd noise was bad during I Will Be There When You Die. I noticed this at the show as well. Come on people...
- Evelyn -> Masterplan... 2 songs I've yet to see live played consecutively. Score!
- I changed my mind, Night 2 Hell -> Run Thru ->PWW -> Dancefloors should close every main set forever.
- Compound Fracture gets more awesome every time I hear it live. It is always something special when included in the encore.
- Great encore night 2. Just great. Really great.
Thanks to the tapers for doing what they do. Made my trip today so much more enjoyable.

can we all talk about the MONSTER that was this dondante? its like every great version of the song mixed with a touch black sabbath.

Dondante was huge. It just kept going forever. Many hugs were given after it was over!
