Title: NYE 2006 @ Fillmore
Post by: Lonndown27 on Sep 09, 2015, 02:30 AM
OK, Im sorry to have to ask this but i cannot find the damn thing, but does anyone have the NYE 2006 Fillmore show? ive looked everywhere and its been nowhere. And if its out there and since the skits are too, has someone already thought of the neat idea of putting both skits at their original placement within the show and as part of the whole thing? like an OKONOKOS PROJECT Thing?

Cheers and have a sexy eve,
Lonndown

holy fuck.....this is OFFICIALLY NOW my favorite MMJ bootleg right now....what a chemically enhanced version of They Ran, what a hilarious intro!!! i cannot believe this band could be this hilarious right before playing a show with Tom getting eaten hahah everything was hilarious, especially how they were talking over each other's lines hahah Patrick is saying such hilarious asides! I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!

This bootleg just makes me love them even more! I've searched and searched for this show for years...I've always wanted to hear it and NOW I JUST DID  nearly cried with how funny that intro was...good god..

i found some really rare photos of the show: one where Tom is shooting the guys with a gun, and the other where Tom is singing Highway To Hell  I'd love to post them up here if I could fucking figure out how to post.

Was anyone there at the show? If so...let's hope they filmed it or something...this was just....wow....GREATEST BAND OF ALL FUCKING TIME!! PERIOD!!!!

one question: where does the part where Tom comes back and shoots everyone and Stairway to Heaven starts playing? I just got through my first listen and wow....maybe i accidentally skipped a track or two, but I don't think so and Anytime kinda just ended weirdly, like another song was about to be played.

I think if we could take that vinyl picture disc they put out, and put the other skit on at the proper point, this would be PERFECT...its already a fucking treasure!!! I cant believe I'm listening to this!!! I'm so grateful to this band, to this community on here, especially the ever courteous and generous JohnnYYac, CHIMMJFAN and Mr. White.

Unbelievable...I'd pay a big lotta money to the band to get live official DVDs of 12/31/2006 and Bonnaroo 2008 etc etc etc...im so glad they AT LEAST recorded everything

 :drum: :bath:

Probably still my fav night of jacket. What an incredible night! Free champagne handed out before the countdown and it snowed inside the Fillmore!

The night before was my birthday and my first Jacket show... I was changed forever. Very excited for the next 3 nights at the Masonic.

Amen brotha, Go SFGiants #Seeyouin2016!

Johnny is amazin for uploading this show a while back, he's been really awesome in his Ambassadorship of MMJ

I'd never been able to hear it until he was kind enough to send me that and wow...wowwwwy...I'd been trying to find that show forever, like since early 2007..since the night went down even though I had no clue about this Oregon Trail thing. But I did know about bootlegs and so was on the hunt for it and could never find it although steamengine.net would have this cover of the show, so I knew it existed, somewhere...somehow

I was not aware of all the crazy skits that were intertwined with the show. Wild stuff. Always great when a long lost favorite finally turns up, I hold out hope that a board of the 30th shows up someday.

http://mymorningjacket.net/index.php?action=search2   such a cool fucking vintage article about NYE 2006 Johnny I think you'd love reading this if you haven't already, Mr. White the same, Rkwedge would dig this I think, CHIMMJFan , many of you if you haven't read this piece before, it's quite brilliant until we get the footage or the band's own tapes of the show get released. What we have is fantastic and pretty fucking amazing, but if we could even beef the sound up more and hear even more of what was going on that night? Just like Bonnaroo 2008 and 2006? Would be able to keep our skulls intact? I don't think so.

ha!  that was a fab read, thanks lonn!  i was there that night. it was such a rollicking good time, soup to nuts.  after the show i stood on the sidewalk with two pals, laughing and shaking our heads.  none of us wanted to go home.

when i met a forum old-timer at another show we shared some stories of that night.  he said, "i was really high that night.  did it really snow in the fillmore?"

yes it did

Definitely one of the best live music experiences of my life! After the show we went back to our friends place in the City, their building had rooftop access and a group of 8 of us hung out on the roof and watched the sunrise. The snow inside the Fillmore was psychedelic shit!
