They've completed some renovations since the band last played to include a completely new stage house w/ a rotating stage & new sound control system (put in after Calvin Harris untz'd untz'd too loud and pissed off the neighbors. SIDEBAR - EDM also caused the curfew at Red Rocks) I don't believe they've raised the roof yet but I couldn't find a definitive answer.

I can't wait to get back there as well and I'm looking forward to seeing some of those renovations. Hopefully they include some more fans over the pit and maybe a better system of keeping the pit from getting over sold/run. :wink:
I'm sure they did a good job with it though. I remember when they did a renovation years ago and took out the bench seating and replaced it with theater style seating. They did a good job then so I'd imagine this time around will be just as good.
Definitely heard some of the untz untzing several miles away in 2015 and then less last year for sure.

I don't even know if their concert season has started yet but I was curious about the renovations. I know they were doing the backstage area and I think the concession/bathroom area as well but I was mostly wondering about inside the pavilion itself and if anything had been done to that. :beer:

As much fun as other East Coast shows and get togethers are, there's just something about MPP that puts it right at the top of best MMJ times for me.
I know it's a combo of many things that make it so special for me. It's not just one great thing but so many great things. From the lot get togethers, to the amazing shows with a rocking pit, to seeing so many friends again, to Rob and Terry throwing their home open to a pre-pre show get together, to after parties at the Sheraton, and all the many things in between.
Looking forward to doing it all again in a few weeks. :cool:

I'm thinking of firing up the grill around 1 and going until just before show time to accommodate whatever schedules people have. For some prior shows, people have come a bit late to our place and were rushed to get to the show so hopefully people can show up earlier this time, especially those who might want to also tailgate at the venue just before show time. We're literally 10 min from Merriweather.
Please PM if you think you can make it and to get directions. Significant, even insignificant, others are welcome.

Me too! :smiley: With GA's still available I thought maybe the show wasn't selling well and in turn there would be plenty of rooms. Maybe even a rate drop, so I've been checking for a few weeks and there's been no rooms for a while now. That's a pretty big place too with the Lodge rooms connected to the tower.
I hope that's a sign the show has sold well, and not something like a few wedding parties taking over the hotel. :grin:

They're doing something different with parking this year (you have to select a lot ahead of time and maybe they are cracking down so people don't park at the mall anymore) so it's unclear how strict it's going to be. Unless anyone has been to MPP this year and can report back? It was not strict in the past.

So doors at 5:30 show at 7... ill probably get there at 645-7 due to group. So i am not very hopeful of getting a poster. I am pretty bummed because I have missed posters at every show i have been to. I can usually grab one from the artist later or on ebay for an inflated price. Not sure if this is the right place on the forum. But I'm looking to see if anyone would be interested in a ticket. Its under the pavillion. Center, Row G, seat 122. My wife(hardcore fan) has to miss for a family reunion(I didnt have to go!), and literally all my friends wimped out. I'm going hell or high water. Yeah i checked today and its not looking the best, in the pit so don't worry about the rain, but lightning is a whole other story as I am not even sure where they will make us go, except back to your vehicle

I was at the Mann in Philly a few years ago (with seats under the roof thankfully) for MMJ when there was a big rain storm with lightening. There was no delay or evacuation or anything. We'll see tomorrow, but it will be hot and humid for sure.

I was at that show too. Looked really cool.
Now that I think of it i've been at like 3 MMJ shows that included lightning. Including the first one I saw. And the time in Camden where they had the largest single-day rainfall on record. I almost missed an indoors one due to rain on the way.

I have an extra pit for tonight. I PM'd the person who asked earlier on this thread, but I thought I'd toss it out here if I don't hear from them. Also, we are going to be real early for entrance. Trying for 5:15, which is aggressive since we're leaving NY at about 1:30, but whatever. Thanks!

If you look at the Vermont setlist printout from a couple days ago it says Portland, ME on it. I think someone's been hitting the reefer, and I think I know who that someone is. ;)
