Looks like our guy Jim has another album of covers as a sequel to A Tribute To, his George Harrison tribute album.

Happy Monday!
oh man, so so good. I need an entire album of Pet Sounds/Wild Honey era Beach Boys. Ordered the Deluxe bundle since they ingeniously included A Tribute To on vinyl
that's weird.. if you click on that top link to ATO, it says he covers Ella Fitzgerald. But there are no Ella Fitzgerald songs on the track list. The description must have been edited at some point after he decided to cut that song..if there was one.
Wow this came out of nowhere. The man is always working (thankfully). I'd love a JJ covers tour! I can't wait to listen to the new tune posted above. Thanks!
1. I Just Wasn't Made For These Times (The Beach Boys)
2. Baby Don't Go (Sonny & Cher)
3. Wild Honey (Dianne Izzo)
4. Midnight, the Stars and You (Ray Noble & al Bowlly)
5. Crying in the Chapel (Elvis Presley)
6. Funny How Time Slips Away (Willie Nelson)
7. Love Is The Sweetest Thing (Ray Noble & Al Bowlly)
8. I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (Bob Dylan)
9. Lucky Man (Emerson, Lake 7 Palmer)
10. The World is Falling Down (Abbey Lincoln)
11. Blue Skies (Irving Berlin)

Agree. Or just a solo acoustic tour.

In a Facebook post, from Rough Trade records, it says all formats come with a Rough Trade bonus CD featuring This Is Romance and It's All Forgotten. Either one of these an Ella Fitzgerald track?
one of the coolest pictures I've seen of him

good find! but no it doesnt appear so. in fact i cant place either song via simple google search so they must be relatively obscure..
or
new Jim songs?
Maybe?
It's All ForgottenThis Is Romance
Just heard "The World Is Falling Down" and I must say...that was probably the most unlistenable Jim James / My Morning Jacket thing I've ever heard.
I agree that the latest single is a little jarring. There's some obviously mangled chords halfway through the song -- those might be the first bum notes I've ever heard on a JJ or MMJ track. But I think the flub just adds to the song's charm. And these are some of Jim's most impassioned vocals in years. Clearly this one isn't meant for the party mix, but toss on some headphones and you can't help but be impressed.

Have you heard the Backstreet Boys cover? That was straight garbage and I pretend it doesn't exist.
The first Tribute To was great, but that was the At Dawn era Jim.
I haven't liked anything he's done solo since (other than his live performances of MMJ stuff).
I love the guy and I'm sure I'm in the very minority there, but it's just not for me.

I kind of dug that one actually.

Im in the same boat pretty much. Love MMJ but Jim solo hasn't really hit home, although I do dig 'A New Life'. Gonna pick up the new album and I'm hoping to hear a couple gems.
Has anyone listened? It's out there, giving a whirl now.

hit and miss for me. some great, some meh.
Giving it a first listen now.
I liked this album, but damn was "I'll be your baby tonight" a miss. The vocals felt like a parody and so I couldn't take it seriously. He's done the Dylan crooning thing well before, this just felt so off.
Also, wasn't there another version of "Lucky Man"? The one used for a commercial I thought sounded much different, though maybe because it was with the band.
Has anyone with the vinyl been able to get the digital download to work yet? Whenever I try, it just says "This artist has not uploaded media for this card yet. Please check back soon."
Finishing up side 1 now. Damn, I just love Jim's voice. So far this album is a real treat. To me, it's really amazing the way Jim just follows his muse.
Really love the 2 Al Bowlly & Ray Noble covers-Piano jazz and Jim James are quite the combination!
Agree and the Dylan cover is perfect.

This is fixed now! Please try again.
If anybody else is having issues with their downloads, please email: info@atorecords.com or send me a message through this forum.
love the covers. jim's vocal on 'wild honey' is damn near perfect. out of this world good. love his vocal phrasing on willie's 'time slips away' as well.
keep following that muse, jim! we dig.
I'm just bummed that my copy of Tribute Too 2 has yet to arrive, despite preordering. I've heard mixed reviews but look forward to forming my own opinion... eventually.
The poster is AMAZING!!!
I'm pleasantly surprised with this and give it a thumb's up.

Jim tweeted there was a week delay at the pressing plant for the gold (?) variant.
The origin of Jim's Lucky Man cover, from a few years ago...
Got my Tribute To tonight. Too bad I also ordered the Tribute To 2...
Seems like a warehouse pull error but no one at ATO has responded yet

Ditto. After all that wait what a low blow. I haven't gotten a response yet either but ATO is a good company they'll make things right.
This album is beautiful.
It's out at a great time too - holiday season when emotions and memories are vivid. He's channelled something pure and special here.

hey they did the same thing to me!
Have given this a few listens now but not much is really grabbing me. Eternally Even was a start-finish musical feast for the ears but this just passes by without me paying much attention, I've never been a big fan of acoustic/minimal stuff though. Dare I say it also comes across as a bit self indulgent :lipsrsealed:
That being said I do like Lucky Man and I have a lot of time for Blue Skies.
