James' issued his latest solo album Uniform Distortion earlier this year. My Morning Jacket is currently taking 2019 off from touring. James' concert in San Francisco on Wednesday is set to begin at 5 p.m. PT, tune in below:

my guess considering the timing of the new release is that it will be solo.

Also, pretty sure Facebook said he's performing "with friends", but that could mean something other than full band as well. I'm just really hoping to get a solid recording of this album live full band.

EDIT: Nvm... definitely said going live with "his friends at Youtube". Misread.

There was a part 1 and a part 2, both about 10 minutes long. Maybe they're previews and we'll see the full thing later on at 5 PDT?

So 4 songs total so far 2 of which were over and over repeated?
Kind of weak so far, but did dig here in spirit just fine.

The second over and over was pretty good.  The structure on this is weird

That was pretty cool.  I was hoping it would have been longer.  What a great idea to come out with Uniform Clarity.  What a rare thing for an artists to do!

I agree with what he said about hugely popular artists not speaking out and telling their fans to vote.  Trent Reznor said the same thing in an interview months ago.  People like Trent, Jim, Pearl Jam, Bruce, etc often speak their minds, but what if Taylor Swift or Katy Perry rallied their fans and asked all of them to vote?

Thought the webcast tonight was awesome. The songs are different beautiful beasts when played solo. The tour this fall makes much more sense now and I am PUMPED.

Still don't love the new tunes but like them more so far acoustic then I did on Uniform distortion.

The webcast was great- I like that he explains the concept of Uniform Clairity- as the songs being in the original state- almost like a thought.

All in Your head was terrific in the stripped down version.

Can't help but compare this " double album" to Conor Oberst who's two latest releases were " Ruminations" and " Salutations" Conor did the opposite with his releases, however, starting with the stripped down versions, and then eventually releasing the same record, with a few added, with a full band.

taylorswiftI'm writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I'll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past I've been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.
I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.
So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting! 🗳😃🌈

I saw that too and good for her. She's right on the money.

I'm sure by saying what she did she'll face plenty of backlash in her home state but I've always felt she was pretty savvy and I'm sure she's prepared for it. Kind of a gutsy thing to do as it's always easier to ride the fence. She's got my respect for not only what she said  but also not being afraid to come out and say it.

I also read about Taylor Swift finally speaking out.  Good for her!  Along with her statement, I read that she received tons of crap and vitriol from right wing groups (4chain is what the article said) since she posted that thing.  The article said that in the past received a lot of love from those fans as some of them thought she was on their side politically/socially.    I guess they can't be fans of anyone anymore..... musicians, actors, athletes..... oh yeah Ted Nugent.

very much needed for the 18-29 segment to get out and vote. I saw a poll the other day that said this age group is polling under 30% for "Likely to vote in midterms".

Her and Jim doing Islands in the Stream for a fundraising/GOTV single!

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee tweeted dismissively, "So @taylorswift13 has every right to be political but it won't impact election unless we allow 13 yr old girls to vote. Still with #MarshaBlackburn."

Oops, looks like you were wrong Mike Huckabee.  I like your fundraising duo idea parkervb
