I see that there is now a London date in January on his site (is this new or been listed for a while?)
Also a friend in Denver mentioned that he's playing a show in Boulder in May with Langhorne Slim but I see no mention of this on his site. Regardless it looks like there will be a fair amount of additional solo shows in 2019. Maybe? Anyone have the scoop?

Just got myself a ticket for the London show. I only found out about this show a week ago somehow! I was initially not bothered about going as I prefer a full band set-up but I've been through a lot of shit this past few weeks and simply being in Jim's presence will heal me I'm sure!
Songkick just added a May date in Houston. Might we get some North American dates announced this week? Routed around Shakey Knees and Roo perhaps?
On the venue page for the show in Houston, it says;
"In Spring 2019, James will set out on the Jim James Presents Uniform Distortion Tour, playing the complete record with a full band for the first time nationally."

Tickets on sale Wednesday, so I reckon we get the tour announcement tomorrow!

I've always dug Only Memories but it definitely always seemed like a Jim song more than a full band song

I don't know - the full band version is a great tune, except when they smash it into Steam Engine!

Maybe I'm the biggest hater but I'm really over Jim solo. The last round just didn't do it for me. Saying this out loud is breaking. my. heart. Mama needs her jacket back
Sorry to be such a debbie downer.
anybody know the spotify presale code for tomorrow's presale?

I loved that he finally did a solo acoustic tour - the Chicago show gave me some true jacket feels. But I couldn't care less about him playing with a different band. Listen to Throwback from Red Rocks 2016, then listen to a Jim solo band version...yikes.
Dallas!! Woohoo. Thank god he's not playing at House of Blues

Yeah, i'm sitting out the Jim solo tours. Bring back the Jacket
Bought all the solo records, saw him a couple times since last MMJ gig.

Will do! so pumped that it's going to be at Granada
Exciting news today! It didn't say anything about codes for the pre sale, but if anyone learns of any, please post. I'll do the same if I hear. 9:30 Club will be a great one. I'm surprised it's there considering the last band show was at the Warner Theater and the previous solo acoustic was the Lincoln Theater.
I will be doing Dallas and Austin.
Sounds like you just go here for presale:

Agreed on Throwback! I was at that show and when I heard it (I had maybe only heard it once previously) I was like HOLY SHIT THIS IS MY JAM! I play it all the time. It is so incredible, I was surprised to see it pop on his solo work and not as a Jacket song.
I'm wondering if he is going to stick solely with his solo stuff or if he'll mix in some Jacket songs as well? Might be weird playing MMJ songs with a different band.

I think he said on his 2013 tour that he stopped playing Jacket songs without the boys because it felt weird. obviously solo acoustic settings are a bit different but I can't imagine he mixes in full band jacket tunes with this group.
after the clusterfuck of getting red rocks tickets, it was nice to grab these no problem.
THROWBACK for today's presale code, from Spotify
Got mine easy peasy, and I love The Heights Theater! I wish the Austin show wasn't the day before mother's day, or I would do it too.

The "Plus Selections From His Entire Catalogue" makes you wonder if that just means his other solo stuff or Jacket songs. If it is Jacket material, for some reason I feel like it will only be some select stuff off The Tennessee Fire. Pure speculation. I got my tickets for his Michigan date today but the real treat comes in August!

I am guessing like the other solo band tours it will only be solo material with maybe 1 or 2 MMJ acoustic songs per show.
Muchas Muchas Gracias!!!!! I venture to Ashville to see friends and music as much as possible. Was at Warren's Xmas Jam last 3 years. Yim was great this year and the bonus Orangepeel show on Sunday was once in a lifetime. Been missing the Jacket! 3 shows for 2019??? Hopefully this will fill the gap, a bit. Crazy thing, Tame Impala is in town the same night at the Arena. Hmmmmm???
Thanks again, Peace.
Yeah, I could see a Wonderful, Bermuda Highway, Golden, ect possibly after the encore. I bet he'll limit it mostly to that.

From London the other night. It was a shame Jim had his back to me all night but I still felt the magic! and I would have still preferred a full band setup but getting to hear Bermuda Highway amongst others was pretty special!
My biggest question is what tapers are going to shows? Need to make sure I get a solid recording of at least one of these Uniform Distortion shows.
Woohoo!! I'm be at the Philly Show!
The way this was labeled, as " presents Uniform Distortion" it makes me think that this will align with the setlist format of both of his other solo tours for past records.
For both Regions of Light.. and Eternally Even the setlists were: Set 1- the entire new album- set 2 a mix of other solo and MMJ greatest hits.
I am actually excited about that format for Uniform Distortion and just hope that now that he has 3 records that the 2nd set will expand a little bit.
** Please drop the new version of a New Life that was played at X-Mas jam- please and thanks!**

Just realized there will still be a day between Houston and Dallas so a ACL taping is still possible.
I wish these shows were over the weekend cause i would definitely drive down to see Jim at the Heights Theater, great little intimate venue. Smart move for Jim to move it there, last time he came through solo and did House of Blues it was pretty empty.

Definitely not as easy to get up there as it was in 2012 to see them. But, we are going. Will be the first time I've ever bought tickets on SH for the Jacket.

Yes, but.. for the price of a OBH, you could have done all 3 Jacket shows and a Jim show.

My wife puts up with my MMJ habit. We did the last RR run, so it will be much easier to sell her on the idea of another beach vacation. The beach is the only reason she agreed to go to OBH 1-4.
Ok came here to make sure the 2 Houston shows were not a typo! Amazing!
So the 9:30 Club in DC just added a second show - May 18 on - on top of the May 17 show. They are also now offering a 2-night ticket. Does anyone know (or is anyone willing to speculate) on whether or not these 2 nights will be no repeats? Past MMJ performances, the fact that the first night is not yet sold out and they are offering a 2-night pass suggests to me that he will not repeat much, if anything.
What say ye?

I don't think Jim has a deep enough solo catalog to go no repeats, he'll probably mix it up a bit but not a ton.
Well if Jim draws from his solo albums, MMJ, several supergroups he's been in, and covers, he could play for many days without repeats. I guess it will depend upon how many tunes this lineup has practiced.
And the 9:30 Club did the right thing and offered an upgrade to a 2-night ticket to anyone who previously bought the originally scheduled single night. Nice.
Did anyone else check out JJ's set from SC last night? I won't post it so as not to provide spoilers for people that want to be surprised. I'd just like to say that the set looks great with a lot of songs played!
I'm very excited to see my guy play tonight at the orange peel in my town. It's going to be a beautiful night :)

Assuming he did a little acoustic segment in the middle?
Going to shaky knees tomorrow!!! Mainly for Jim but also looking forward to Interpol and Gary Clark.
Will also check out Cage which will be weird cause the last time I saw him it was in support of his 1st album. Only 150 people there.
Anyone else I should check out? Anyone here going?
Also got deerhunter on the agenda late night.

Went to both 9:30 Club shows which were excellent although tonight's was short and early but no complaints combined with last night. Here's Golden from tonight...
I will come forth and say that I've talked a lot of shit about the quality of Jim's solo band shows. I've come to apologize because holy shit, these Washington shows are rockin! Wish I could make it to Royal Oak.
Both 9:30 Club shows were great. The EE songs sound pretty different compared to album, but it all translates great live. The video that GO4IT posted above from night 2 is a particularly great version of Golden. Those acoustic songs really work well after a rocking full set. And State of the Art to close is perfect. IF you weren't crazy about the last tour because Jim didn't play enough guitar or rip any solos, then that certainly will not be a complaint this go around.

These setlists have been pretty...uniform.
Anyone have an idea of set times this tour?
Tonights show has Door Open at 7pm, Show at 8pm. Guessing that puts Jim on stage around 9pm after Amo Amo?
