I would say yes, to an extent. We did it for Red Rocks in 2019 and the best part was the guaranteed seats in the first seven rows, but the VIP poster was not (same poster design for all VIP shows) and VIP merch was an apron, maybe? Although, it was nice to get the show merch purchases out of the way with early entry. We did it for Seattle the last tour and it definitely was not worth it. The VIP poster was the same design again as the other VIP shows, the Osprey backpack is nice, but small, probably will never use it. Early entry for GA is nice, but defintely not necessary. We could have gotten the same spots when the doors opened, but if you're looking for the rail, you will need early entry.

Cool...thx!  I can see how it would be worth it at RR.  I did the soundcheck packages back in the day and it was well worth it but $300 for early entry and a poster I may or may not like is probably a pass.

Thoughts on all 4 Colorado shows being unique setlist nights with no repeats spanning the 4 shows? Or , will they treat them as 2 groups of 2 shows?

Also, is the Dillon show all GA?

The venues are just an hour apart, and it may be wishful thinking, but I'm leaning towards no repeats.

Especially with Pat's comments that they don't do "album tours" anymore, and that they've released two albums since they were last in CO.

Four completely unique shows across two venues would make for some EPIC set lists.

I thought he was talking about setlists/song selection. Spreading it out more evenly across the whole catalog instead of playing most of the new album at every show.

As someone who has never done Red Rocks but has it on the bucket list - is there anything specific to know for the show/sale.

I was looking at the VIP packages and thinking maybe doing the Love & Sound Package for one show and the Red Rocks Backstage Tour Experience VIP for another, if possible.   Though I'm not sure the Red Rocks backstage tour may be worth it.

Essentially I'm likely willing to pay the prices for guaranteed front 15 rows (if that's good?) and signed poster for both nights.  Does anyone know if the Love & Sound is maybe available for me to buy one of each night?

Go to red rocks!

I think I've seen about 15 shows at RR over the last 25 years. In my experience I'd say anything in the front 40 to 50 rows is absolutely amazing. Once you get up towards the top, the sound can get splintered. can get windy there, the sound kind of whips around a little bit near the top. Still great! I think the sweet spot at red rocks is right around the middle. You're up too close you don't really get to see and feel the full affect of the venue.

Good to know.  I've read about it over the years but wanted a refresher on how bad it could be when further up.  I'm willing to get the VIP package simply to get a guaranteed poster and seat in the front rows.

I actually got to see Red Rocks early this past summer but it was during a family visit and we just walked through during the day.  Dying to go back and see a show there.  Been wanting to do it for years and may be trying on the presale tomorrow.

But they've always kinda done that anyways? At least in the 2010s when they've had new albums out.

Maybe the context was different for Patrick's quote that you're referencing, I was possibly incorrectly lumping it in with the "We don't want to hectically crisscross the country anymore we're gonna hang out in a city for a few days" kinda stuff they were saying post hiatus.

Anyways I don't doubt they'll do 4 mostly/completely unique setlists in CO. They've routinely done it with 3 night runs and of course Beacon.

My .02 is they'll treat them as 2 groups of two shows, so I think they'll be some overlap. Maybe not a lot of tunes played at both venues but some.

Eg, I can't see OBH, PWW, Dondante or Steam Engine all only being played once in four shows. They might not all be repeated but it's doubtful to me none of them will. Same with I'm Amazed and a couple of others.

I can't make RR this year but if I was, I would definitely splurge for VIP if you want a close up spot.  I went in 2016 and was able to get close for both shows but that was with Roll Call early access.  Even then there were A LOT of people with the laminate, way more than I expected.  With GA you'll have to get to the parking lot super early and get in line.  Sure you'll make new friends there and have fun but personally I'd rather enjoy the beginning of my day a different way and not have to stress out about getting a prime seat.

Or, my suggestion would be just to buy reserved seating. I think being too close to the stage takes away from the greatness that is RR, we have done reserved seating for the past two 2-night runs in '16 and '19 and gotten around the 30s-40s rows and it's been amazing, as long as you get in little before opener or during opener, i've had no problems with getting my seats i paid for.

Title: Re: 2022 US Tour Dates
Post by: clayton on Feb 16, 2022, 11:12 AM
Yeah. I mean, in a perfect world, they would just do, though it may not eliminate bots, but just let the first 2 thousand or so that bought tickets to waterfront, have the first option. Whatever is the capacity for the amphitheatre. Of course thats not going to happen, but in a perfect ticketing world.
Title: Re: 2022 US Tour Dates
Post by: ranyart on Feb 16, 2022, 11:15 AM
I agree the whole Iroquois Amphitheater bit is very confusing and they should have come out and said if you want to guarantee tickets for this show get a travel package since Iroquois only holds something like 2300 folks and Waterfront Park is obviously way bigger.  You know they are not going to sell 2300 travel packages so my suggestion is to keep looking to see what pops up in the meantime.

Just imagine if Headliners was part of this too, and who knows it still might be a surprise they will pull out at some point...

Did anyone see regularly priced tickets for Madison or Chicago? I got through right away but the only tickets available were VIP or platinum, plenty of availability for both still. Why would you not offer/offer so little of regularly-priced seats in a predominantly fan presale?
Title: Re: 2022 US Tour Dates
Post by: slappymoe on Feb 16, 2022, 11:20 AM
Access to Iroquois tickets will only come with buying a ticket to the Waterfront show. When buying your Waterfront ticket, you can choose between a Waterfront ticket only, or a bundled ticket for both shows. Standalone Iroquois tickets will not be available.

i mean, there's only one way to interpret this, right?  and nobody saw this "bundle" option, right?

I got through right away but the only tickets available were VIP or platinum, plenty of availability for both still. Why would you not offer/offer so little of regularly-priced seats in a predominantly fan presale?

Yes looking at both of them now and non-VIP tickets are available for both.

Just double checked and only VIP is available for Madison and Chicago just has platinum in addition, no regularly-priced tickets

Hopefully your credit card on file with Tickets Today matches the one you are trying to use.  Mine changed due to bogus charges and now I can't purchase tickets because the new one isn't in their system.  What a joke, of course their customer service is non responsive and you can't update it because their website is just a front to sell tickets through them.

Guess I'll just pay quadruple face value now.  Yay.

Im still so confused, just the fact that there is a link for the Iroquois Amphitheater and that I can buy from it blows my mind...My bad for not looking at the tickets it gave me closer, but I just looked at the GA and figured I was good to go, now I'm stuck with 4 tickets to Waterfront, how is that even possible???

I'd love to take you up on the offer! I had two friends trying for me and both of them just grabbed the waterfront tickets as well so now we have six waterfront tickets. And there's just two of us. And of course no Iroquois amphitheater tickets!

Very strange and very, very frustrating. I was in line and ready right when tickets went on sale, and there was definitely no Bundle option available. I tried to call the Iroquois Amphitheater multiple times, and it always goes to an answering machine (tried for over an hour). I also called WFPK who is having their own pre-sale tomorrow, and the guy told me they were aware of the issue and told me the telephone number for Ticket Master (no luck speaking with a human). He said the band was aware of the issue and told me they had posted about it in Twitter and Facebook (I don't do Facebook but did look at the Twitter thread). When I purchased my single VIP ticket, I was hoping there would be a Bundle option at the end, but as everyone here has said, there was not one. I don't know what to do now. Our financial position isn't near as good as it was in years past where I would take the opportunity to buy multiple tickets when better seats became available in hopes that I could sell or give away the extra ones. I've had to "eat" the price of many, many tickets in the past but can't do that this time. If I can't get a ticket to the Iroquois Amphitheater show, I'll go anyway and stand outside the venue and listen ... yeah, I know that's pretty sad, but that's where I'm at with all this shit.

Sounds like a plan! I just wish I could have gotten a ticket for myself and my brother. He can only go to the Friday show at Iroquois. I took him there for night 2 back in 2016.

As far as the Louisville situation goes, changing from Iroquois to another night at Waterfront seems the most logical. Other than just flat out putting the show onsale on friday, I cannot think of another way. Opening it up to waterfront park will allow a lot more people than 2 thousand plus who can fit into the amphitheatre.

Got a single for the Red Rocks Saturday show after waiting in the queue for about ten minutes, then clicking to retry over and over again for another ten minutes after I was in.  No luck for the Dillon second night, so here's hoping Friday will lead to a +1 for Red Rocks and pair for Dillon.

Was able to get tix for the Raleigh and Wilmington shows in NC.  (Moved to Raleigh from Denver a few years ago.)  The crazy thing there was that ticketmaster and Live Nation (where you'd land if you follow the venues' link) had the same seats listed for about $150 + a boatload of fees that we were able to get thru the ticketstoday link provided on the MMJ website for $50-$70 + $10 fees.

We managed to score four regular tix for both Friday and Saturday of Red Rocks, but no luck on the Dillon shows.

Does anyone know anything about the Taos show? We were talking about driving down for it but it looked like only VIP available today.

Still need two for both nights in Dillon, two for Taos, and three for Dallas.

It's been over 15 years since I've seen MMJ, so I'm overdue! Grabbed tickets for one of the Dillon shows. Red Rocks is closer to home but I'm interested in checking out the new Dillon Amphitheater. It's smaller than Red Rocks and I think will be all GA, so we can get close without spending a fortune.

I am going to the Innings Fest and was disappointed to have them cancel on us... at least I was out of town during the cancelled NYE shows at the Mission so that didn't hurt so much.

I NEVER buy scalper tickets, but I got interested in what the prices were after reading your post just now, so I looked. I then went on Ticketmaster to find 1 Verified Re-sale ticket for $265 before fees and taxes. If you go to this link, you have to adjust your search to 1 ticket instead of the default 2 ticket setting. I acted like I was going to buy it, but it just kept spinning saying "Sit tight while we secure your ...", so I don't know if it is really going to work for someone or not. Good luck!

Edit: I tried it again and it worked (I'm not getting the ticket though). It totaled up to $318.96 after taxes and fees.

I just now checked again, and there seem to be 2 tickets available now, and the price went down a little. One is for $250 and the other is for $249.79.

Are we expecting a Sea Hear Now announcement today? The band is open that weekend and playing Connecticut that Friday (Sep 16).

Lineup is announced tomorrow at noon. I expect Jacket to be on there. Not my thing but I believe Green Day will be in the lineup as well.

I'll take it but they should be a headliner! Weak.

Yeah I like Gary Clark Jr but lineup is overall a bit weak for me. September is a concert puzzle for me with seemingly every band playing the area (in NY) so I'm definitely prioritizing the CT show now.

Stevie bringing in the boomer dollar ;)

It would be awesome if she sang with Jim though. Maybe a lil Stop Dragging My Heart Around.

Damn, the hits just keep on coming. I thought there was a good chance of this but was hoping for everyone going it wouldn't.

Hopefully Jim is on the mend and better soon.

It feels like we should be hearing about 2022 fall dates soon.  I can't see any more late summer dates being announced at this point which is a big bummer since Louisville was cancelled without new dates being announced.  I can easily see them playing there in the fall but it sure won't be the same as what they were planning.  I'm super interested to see if they will do a multi night run like they did in 2021 in Chicago so it will be fun to see if they come up with something similar for 2022.

Of course NYE and OBH are on the horizon too so fasten your seatbelts and good luck navigating ticketing hell when the time comes!

Yeah, hoping to get some more soon. I decided over the weekend to do Columbus in September.

I did some email digging yesterday for some upcoming tickets we're going to need to hand off to someone else and in the process I found my MMJ ticket purchase emails for Chicago 2021 (which was purchased in May 2021) and NYE Mission Ballroom (which was purchased August 4 2021), so future MMJ tour date announcements are definitely behind what they normally are.  What the heck is going on?

Are there any rumors of any other shows this year?
