Title: March Madness
Post by: ericm on Mar 26, 2022, 08:29 AM
Having been born and raised in Jersey City,N.J. I'm (pun intended) proud  as a Peacock!

What an amazing run by these guys from what is as best described as a commuter school with under 2,500 students. It's only been in the last decade or so they actually started housing some students.

I was going to their games as a kid in an old armory before they built a rec center in the late 70's now called run baby run arena, I never dreamed they'd do what they're  doing and even getting to play a team like Kentucky was unimaginable, let alone actually beating them.

We used to think making the NIT meant a great season and the couple of times they won the MAAC conference they were bounced in their first game.

This team and coach deserve a ton of credit for what they've done and have carved out their place in history with this run. I'd imagine the Wells Fargo Arena in Philly will be rocking with not only people from JC but all of NJ as well on Sunday. Another tall order against another blue blood but these guys just play and won't be intimidated. Should be a great watch.

Go Peacocks!

I was happy when they took down Kentucky in the first round.  The rest was a magic carpet ride that sadly is over.  It was a fun show while it lasted!

Yeah my feelings exactly.

UNC played a terrific game yesterday and we're hitting on all cylinders. St.Peter's played their worst game of the tourney but even at their best I don't think they would've beaten Carolina playing as well as they were.

Looking forward to the Final Four and am rooting for a Duke/Nova Final.

St. Peters couldn't make a shot, and UNC played too well.  I'm glad you enjoyed the run.  The tournament has been great so far.  I'm hoping for a Nova- Duke final as well.

Yeah they had some good looks early but couldn't knock them down, and with Carolina playing so well, it really made it tough. They made those shots in the first three games, and never trailed by more than six points in two of the games while going wire to wire ahead vs Murray St. I was hoping they'd play as well as they had been but missing all those shots early was a killer.

They had a better more competitive second half but it was way too late by then.  Still a fun, amazing, unexpected, historical run by my hometown team.
