Awesome! I'll be at London and Manchester hopefully! Those dates are gonna be a struggle for me physically and I'm also having a friend buy me the tickets next week as I don't get paid until the week after  but we're doing this aren't we!!!! it's finally happening!!!  :cheesy:  :cheesy:  :cheesy:

Love that they're playing O2 venues also. They treat us disabled people really well. No queueing or anything! See you guys at the rail! (standing through these shows will kill me but I'm doing it haha)

I may have let out a little scream when I first heard the news!!

I second that, hope you have a great time at the shows Lucius and all others across the pond that are going, you've had to wait way too long.

OMG. I moved to Portugal from Colorado last year, and one sacrifice is missing MMJ at Red Rocks. I sort of fell out of touch. But just today I see the Porto show! I am ecstatic! I will get to Madrid the next night too!

Oh these are non-headlining spots at a festival. Ugh. I will still go but will focus on visiting my niece in Manchester for a full show too.

Just in case anyone here isn't on the Facebook group. Little heads up that there's gonna be train strikes in the UK on the 31st May

Luckily I originally booked a bus to Manchester from London before changing my mind and booking the train but still have the bus ticket so I'm covered! Make sure you guys plan ahead as it will be chaos! The UK does not handle these types of travel disruptions well

I've also been told by the train company I was going with (Avanti) that I can wait until the day to apply for my refund. The strike will probably go ahead but they do *sometimes* get called off so I'm gonna hold off on applying for a refund until I'm sitting on the bus to Manchester!

So excited for these shows though, I can't believe how close we are now :cheesy: even if there is now an added layer of stress - it'll be worth it!!!

This time next week, London will be done and those of us also doing Manchester will be painfully making our way up north! (thank you rail strikes!)

This has felt like a lifetime of a wait. I can't believe it's almost time!!! :cheesy:

Who's doing Europe? What shows?

I couldn't figure out how to insert them here but here's a link to some pics I got during London/Manchester.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs8MgnBIl07/

Highlights/notes:
. London very "Z" heavy set-list, overall I preferred that set-list but the band went just that *little* bit harder in Manchester.

. Manchester had a great Amazed > Urges > Touch Me 2 run and ended with Dancefloors before coming back for an encore consisting of Steam / Mahgeetah! Very atypical set but it really worked. The crowd was THERE FOR IT. The highlight of the show for me though was actually the Victory > OBH > Circuital run in the middle. The band really locked in. Patrick was loving Victory D. I honestly thought he was gonna destroy his kit during the outro. Does he always go THAT hard?! Incredible stuff.

. Manchester got a VERY heavy jam at the end of Spring. People are saying it looked rehearsed but it seemed in the moment to me. Jim wandered over to Patrick and started shredding right at the end and the rest of the band had looks on their faces as if to say "well okay then, let's go!".

. Wasn't expecting Spring/Feel You repeats but as they're two of my favourites it wasn't a problem!

. London got I Will Be There When You Die, it was unexpected and really beautiful. Just Jim and Carl lit up and playing. I also learned that night that Touch Me Part 1 is a beast of a song live. The end really goes off doesn't it!

. The one single song that didn't do anything for me was Never In The Real World. There are songs I like much less from ST so that surprised me. Maybe it was just misplaced on the set.

I did the barrier for both nights and my body is still feeling the burn, totally worth it! The band have said "be back soon" so hopefully they find time for a more extensive tour in the future. I better get saving!

In Manchester Wednesday night, Elton John was playing the first of four nights at the large arena, and Coldplay was playing the first of three nights at one of the football stadiums. Even Ricky Gervais was at a local theater. But I saw the best show of the evening. They are on all cylinders. It was so cool to see MMJ at a small venue, although most of my earlier MMJ shows were at Red Rocks, which I miss dearly.

I will see them again at the Primavera Sound Festival in Porto on Friday. Last night MMJ was at the same festival in Barcelona. I see they were scheduled to play an hour and were followed by the War on Drugs. I would hate to be the band that has to follow them.

Wonder if the ITIGTH opener was in honor of the 1000th MMJ show--think it's one of the very first songs Yim wrote for the band right?
