I was doing this in response to a different thread, so forgive the duplication. I highly recommend finding an actual copy on eBay, for a high-res picture. Its a gem, originally free, now running around $30 on eBay, when available. Enjoy!

I completely agree. The first time I heard the song was when I got Acoustic Chorale. I about lost it right then and there. I did lose it when they played it on night 1 in Chicago on the last tour. One of the greatest songs ever.
I wish they'd pull out the acoustic instruments more than they do. I'd love to catch them at The Bridge School one of these days.
Someone is posting Acoustic Chorale on eBay, $19.99 plus $3.00 shipping. They show "more than 10" available, though they describe the item condition as "Acceptable", which suggests some wear. Also, the picture shows the label off center, compared to the two copies I own.
That said, if you don't have it, Acoustic Chorale is a must. I've seen copies on auction go for over $30, so this might be a good deal.

I spoke to the seller. They have about 14 mint/never played copies of Acoustic Chorale. He/she (?) assured me they would lower the price back to $20. That's pretty good, as far as the market for this DVD is concerned. I'm tempted to buy the lot but wouldn't want to make money off of fellow MMJ fans. The price hadn't changed yet, but stay tuned...

I am! Bringing my 6 year old daughter Maddie along. I have another adult ticket for my wife, Michele, but she might not make it. I also have another child ticket for Maddie's sister, Katherine, but she's got rehearsals for summer theater, so we'll see... We'll need a forum gathering. I was thinking right after Yim's set, when we'll all be basically in the same place at the same time.

John- Agreed. My wife and I went back in 2008 and saw Jim 3 feet away front and center and we will be back again this year. Expecting to see Jim also play with Prine and Calexico again. Took my (now 14 yr old) son and wife to the MSG NYE show but my wife and I like to do Newport solo. She also went w me to Merriweather Post and will be going to Philly but the folk fest is always a special event and to see Jim there in that environment is really really special.
Lets get a thread together before hand and would be great to meet up.

I just watched Acoustic Chorale again. Amazing these didn't make the final cut for Okonokos. I would have found the room for these. I'm waiting now for the Blu Ray version (pipe dream alert!!), with Acoustic Chorale included. It would be cool if you could weave the AC tracks into Okonokos, like a director's cut or something.

You can see by this thread that I LOVE Acoustic Chorale. I own 3 copies! This Limited Edition DVD was included with Okonokos back in 2006. These 6 songs didn't make the cut for the full-length DVD, though some are found on various audio versions of Okonokos and the infamous The Okonokos Project (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/forum/index.php?topic=4369.0) (download here (http://www.thesteamengine.net/mmj-archive/my-morning-jacket/various-and-compilations/The%20Okonokos%20Project.zip)).
I just received the OK to post a disc image (.iso) file of Acoustic Chorale! This should allow any and all to burn a pristine copy of my favorite MMJ video, complete with menu. Its fairly small, 1.69 GB, and should fit on any DVD-R disc. No special software needed.
Can't speak to Mac users, but for PC, download the three parts, decompress the RAR files into one ISO file (decompress part 1 and the rest should follow automatically). Right click the file and you should see "Burn Disc Image". As long as you have a DVD burner and a blank DVD-R in there, you're on your way!

For those who've yet to acquire Acoustic Chorale on DVD, I've uploaded the disc image (.iso) file so that you can burn your own copy! I received permission from the band's management a while back, as it was never commercially available and is out of print.
Download the .iso file, unzip it, then put a blank DVD-R disc into your computer. Right click the .iso file and choose "Burn disc image". You should end up with a pristine copy with working menu, etc. Not sure if Mac users will face a significantly different procedure. Enjoy!
