Who's going to the Riverfront show?
I can't find a simple Nashville thread and I just want to know who's going to Nashvegas!
Any preshow plans?
I won't be hanging out afterwards as we're zipping back to the ville for the next night...
I'll be there...that is, if there's still room in your car. :-?
your spot is guaranteed man.
Quoteyour spot is guaranteed man.
Sweet! :)
I'll be there.
Me as well, hopefully in time too! We're driving down from Michigan as soon as I get out of work Friday morning.
I'll be there.
I'm there. Cannot wait! I'm open for meeting up downtown somewhere if you locals got ideas.
aMD, Love Dog and I will be leaving Louisville around 3:30 so with a 3 hr drive, we'll be getting in right about the time the gates open so not sure if we'll actually get there early enough to meet outside the venue but how about at a beer line somewhere?
Kory I will PM you my number, and you guys just call or text me when yall roll into town. Would like to meet yall and at least have a beer or two, and hopefully get up close.
Kevin
Cool deal Kevin, you surely need to head to Brownings in Louisville as well as having a beer or two before the show in Nashville.
New to the forum guys, but I have (2) tickets for the Nashville show on 8/15 that I can't use. I live in Chicago and won't be able to make the trip. I'm just looking to get face value for them and would like someone else to be able to use them.
Is there a special forum I should be posting this on instead? If you are interested or know someone who is...please drop me an email at kvankerrebroeck@yahoo.com.
Thanks in advance.
I'm there & I'm pumped

Excellent. Let me know where Brownings is address-wise and in relation to the venue. Never been to Louisville, so just as excited about seeing a new town as I am about the show.
Yes! I'll be driving from out of town so I'm wondering if anyone has any information regarding the venue - what time the doors/gates open and what's a good time to show up for a good spot?
I'll be cruisin on down from St. Louis then headed to Louisville... it's finally arriving just got my ticket reminder a few days ago... the excitement is overwhelming!! :D
it's just over a week away, and i can't wait
I'm just plain jealous of all of you free living, fun loving, concert going kids ;D
Hey everyone I want to introduce myself, My name is Charles, I have been a Hardcore MMJ fan since 2003 and have seen countless mmj shows all over the country. I raced down to Bonnaroo after work and picking up a friend at the Nashville Airport and rolled into Bonnaroo with my artist passes. Magical set from MMJ that I will never forget.
My next MMJ fix is going to be the Nashville show, which I am super excited for and then doing a early morrning drive to Louisville for what " I do believe" to be the best MMJ show!! I hope everyone has a safe drive in Nashvegas !!
Welcome Charles!
I'm there, dragging some old work buddies of mine, a crew of about 6, all in their 50's and all ready to rock to the Jacket. I got them to go to the last 2 Nashville shows, so they all know what to expect.

Doors are 6:30 pm. Riverfront Park is right at the end of all the honkeytonks downtown. I'm gettin there at 6:00
I will be there!
Hey people just want to let you know, if your a freak and want to bump into MMj while they are in town you might want to head over to East Nashville, Carl lives our there (Per one of my artist) and they are known to hang out in that part of town around the 5 points area.
Also Kory that was some funny shit back at the My first time in Louisville thread haha
A-bump.
i am so stoked about seeing them in just a few short (or should i say long) days. this week is dragging on and on.
had a couple of questions since i'm not too familiar with nashville or the venue. if my friend and i get there early to find a parking place, are there any places to eat within walking distance? also are you allowed to bring in items such as lawn chairs or coolers? i didn't know what to expect from riverfront park and couldn't really find any info on it.
hey, I just found out Nashville is on central time... awesome for the drive down... shitty for the drive back home!

I don't live in Nashville but I am up there a lot. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, sports bar and grill type places downtown. Sure at least 10 within walking distance. The venue is at the corner of two of the main streets 1st Ave and Broadway, just walk along either and you'll find somewhere. In fact i bet you will see a few places while you are looking for a place to park. Good luck! And yes, 'twill be a loooong three days.
I'll be there. I get off work downtown around 4pm and will probably head to Broadway Brewhouse & Mojo Grill for a few beers before heading to the show. They are only 2 blocks from the venue and have some wings, gumbo, beer selection and atmosphere.

Doubt you'll be able to bring in lawn chairs or coolers. Went to a show there a few months ago and they didn't allow those in. But the lawn is on a hill and a blanket or two make great "chairs" there.

I like that place. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be to town early enough to grab a bit to eat. Depending on the crowds, afterwards I may try to head to the Beer Sellar. They've got a big selection of beers, good sandwiches (though the kitchen may be closed by then), and pool for $1/game.

Yea, downtown is sure to be packed afterwards as there is a preseason Titans game and another "big" concert (Darryl Worley) on 2nd avenue.
Hell Yeah! 48 hrs until the Jacket is rocking out in the Music City!
Any predictions or hopes for the set list?
1. Cobra
2. By my car
**crosses fingers****
some reason i think the Cobra will come up next to us in Louisville... By My Car would make me very very happy as well... as will nearly anything Jim James does :D
Holy crap this is in two days!
weeks go by like days
I can dream, can't I?
how bout an Epichord or Hollywood Babylon in Louisville?
How 'bout a John Cougar Mellencamp cover? :o
I'll be there before making the trek to the Louisville show!
Best weekend ever?
:D

thanks blimeyha!
this is tomorrow!
:D
i am ready to ROCK the eff OUT
YES!
This time tomorrow I'll be leaving to pick up LD and aMD and then it's off to Nashvegas!
thanks ascot21 and Don Dante for the info!
tomorrow is almost here! yowzas!
No problem TL. Maybe I will bump into ya down there. Holy crap I have never anticipated a show quite like this/these!
i hear you, don dante. this weekend is going to be awesome.
i haven't seen mmj since december 2006! i NEED these shows! :)
walked by riverfront today and saw that the stage is finally up...as of last night it wasn't even there yet (its a temporary barge) but things look pretty good now. I'll post a picture late tonight of the setup after i get back from taking pictures downtown.
Any last minute inexpensive suggestions on where to crash in downtown Nash... been back and forth on going but fuck it... its the Jacket :D
NOthing downtown is going to be too cheap. Stadium Inn is cheap but a shithole. Best bet is Best Western on Music Row, although its still probably close to $100. If you stay near the airport (15 min from downtown) you'll get cheaper (roughly $60).
Hey guys I'm going to the Nashville show. Can any of you tell me if there's going to be an opening band. Or is MMJ going to be the first band opening at 8?
haven't heard or found anything about any opening bands so it sounds like it'll just be MMJ
Home from work and about to hit the road! Woo! Hopefully I can use some of that car time to catch a couple hours of sleep before the show.
will be leaving work in less that 6 hrs!

Kory, check your email.
I can't wait to get out of work and head over the river front, I might be able to get backstage too!!!
Then off the Louisville, what a great weekend!
Also, Patrick, and Jim where spotted in East Nashville the other day.
take me backstage with you.
there will be high fives thrown.
Is there a set place for forum members to meet and have beers before tonight's show?
I don't think there is an opening band. When they put " An evening with My Monrning Jacket" it 's just them. So hopefully we get atleast 2.5 hrs of music.

sorry, I had to go meet with some clients... that sounds so important until I tell you it was at a wastewater treatment plant. :(

A Jim James duet with Cortney Tidwell. Interesting. Plus I had forgotten about the Bobby Bare Jr. Shel Silverstein project.

No, I didn't drive, nor did I sleep. I actually ended up spending nearly all the time in the car reading Watchmen.

Great video Kris.
Best show I've seen in a long time. The boys were on point and a great setlist. I was able to sneak in my DSLR so I got some pretty good shots. Wasn't close enough to get some great shots but here are the best ones.
