Title: ISM inspiration?
Post by: marktwain on Aug 16, 2004, 09:39 AM
A friend turned me onto this poet, Stephen Dobyns, and suggested the album title It Still Moves might be an allusion to one of his poems, which is called Somewhere it still moves.  I can definitely see it.  We know Jim reads poetry, anyway (the David Berman quote in AcousticcitsuocA).  Regardless, I recommend folks check out Mr. Dobyns poetry.  Somewhere it still moves is in his selected poems, Velocities, and it is really good.  Go read it so I can hear what you think!

Wasn't the title an allusion to the Bear on the cover...that despite the fact it was dead and stuffed that "it still moves"?  or is this just my imagination?

thanks for the info on that, gotta start reading more!
