Thanks for the mention!

I also have my own website now, with a lot more music on it, including new music from this year:

It's all just demos I made with my four-track at home.

I was just going to post this!  Great stuff and lots of pictures of our Mr. Greenstuff.  Great studio pics, love all the electronics.  You need some Omnichords in there!

back in my younger days I was so much hotter.  way skinnier, more toned.  i've let myself go.  I will say I've lost at least a pound since those pics were taken.  love ya yac, haha I just posted about you coming up to record on there!  there's a free basement studio waiting for your precious tones.

Well, tomorrow night is the debut... and likely final performance... of my band, Bustin' NECAPS.  Two songs- Takin' Care of Business by BTO and Let It Be.  A charity Battle of the Bands to benefit the high school SADD organization.  Omnichord, guitar, bass, conga, tamborine, and more cowbell!  Wish me luck.  No videos allowed!

It went well, according to friends and students in the crowd.  We followed two hardcore, scream-metal bands, so many appreciated our mellower set.  I couldn't hear our mix too well so may have strayed from the others.  I burned my right hand fingers at the end of TCoB, furiously strumming the strumplate more than ever.  F-cking hurts.  If video or audio surfaces and passes muster, I'll post.

Johnny, embrace that blood. I toured in an indie band out of Nashville for a little bit. It was a very different style of lead guitar than I'd played before, lots of tremolo picking. I got a little bit more aggressive than they were expecting with it. We wound up dubbing my white Strat "The Bloodsportcaster" as a result.

Since I haven't posted in here since I was style labeling myself "beardfolk," here's what I'm currently up to (I'm a windbag. Skip straight to 2:40 if you just want music):

If that piques your interest, follow me on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/thepoetryofX -- I've got some stuff in the works, including a collaborative project with a really gifted friend of mine. She's got a beautiful voice, in an Allison Krauss-kind-of way. We're recording in the old antebellum house I live in, putting this decrepit, haunted piano to good use. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of the project!

My band Northern Strangers has been playing together for a few years now around Los Angeles.  We frequently play Pink Floyd's The Wall synced with Alice In Wonderland live on stage; as well as Dark Side and Echoes synced with Wizard Of Oz.  We have a bunch of videos of that up on our youtube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/northernstrangers?feature=mhee

Here's a video of Comfortably Numb from our recent show at The Roxy Theater:

Northern Strangers The Wall At The Roxy - Comfortably Numb

We are just getting ready to release our debut original album MONSTERS!  If you're into psychedelia and folk and rockin' guitars - you should check out the stream of our album hosted at: http://www.playcrossroads.com/u/northernstrangers

I'm totally listening to my old band and whoa we had some good shit for a while back in the day. Kinda wish some of these songs would find their way to... somewhere... haha
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh

I finally figured out the chords to Tonight I Want To Celebrate With You, after watching Jim's playing on the Lawrence HS video.  Forgive my singing, but here it is on the Omnichord OM-200m...

Concerns

It's been a while since I've had internet but I've got a new band & a couple new eps out now.
Anyhow, here's a song from our last album retreat:

And our bandcamp junk:

Hope somebody gets a lil thrill from it!

This is a recording of our band's practice. We played I Will Sing you Songs, I'm Amazed, and Off the Record. Check it out. It's not perfect but that's what practice is for.

This is pretty great! What do you call yourselves, where you from, what else do you play? Keep it up and thanks for sharing!

Love that cover of Tyrone, good tune!  i love it.
Can you keep it simple? Can you let the snare crack? Can you let it move without holding back?

Don't know if you follow Johnny Quaid's Facebook page, The Ravenna Colt.  He recently posted about finding an unpleasant odor in his studio, a conversation ensued, culminating with lyrics to a song I wrote, inspired by the event.  A recording may come soon...
