so, I'm a few years into my mid-life Dead phase and still amazes me how much there is to find out about this band and its many phases/incarnations. I usually use the Relisten website to stream shows and they have this feature called "Today" that pulls all the shows played on that date in their database. Last week I was listening to 10/17/78 Winterland and heard a song I had never heard and it was "If I Had the World To Give", a Robert Hunter song off Terrapin Station. I really loved it immediately and went to look it up and apparently it was only played 3x ever, all in 78.

Do any more knowledgeable fans have any insight why such a beautiful song only got played 3x?

Oteil has been reading this thread apparently because he sang World to Give with
Dead & Co last night. I love his voice on the slower Garcia tunes that he has brought
to this band.

Was just revisiting 6-24-70 Port Chester and the INCREDIBLE second set of the late show, the one that starts with one of the best NFAs ever, its got something waaaay extra special in the Bo Diddley beat going on and then it slides SEAMLESSLY (and I ain't jokin') into a hot hot Easy Wind.  Holy shit this prime Grade A++ Grateful fucking Dead!  I'm usually a SBD-only dude, and it kills me that there is no SBD of this night, but the AUD is all we got and it ain't too shabby.

I love thinking about the magic that went down in the Cap with the Dead in 1970 and then again with MMJ 40 years later!  Just like the Fillmore in SF, there has got to be some residual psychedelic vibes hanging around in those rooms!

I'm a big fan of Joshua Johnson, NPR, and The Grateful Dead. This is well worth the listen...
