Can't believe how unexciting this is.

WE WANT MMJ BACK. No more Jim James kumbaya distractions. Ughghg

A song that rocks along with literally one chord more or less the whole time was probably not the best choice of song for a stripped down performance

Kinda have to agree . This stuff isn't even close to as powerful as the spirit of those five men led by Jim

respectfully disagree. power doesn't have to manifest itself in reverb, power chords or kickdrums. it can manifest in harmony, message and sincerity which I think this cover has.

Don't you ever turn it off

I also disagree- I thought it was great- It's clear that this is where Jim is heading with his musical interests, it's been pretty evident since about 2005.  He just gave us Uniform Distortion, his most rocking album since It Still Moves, let him stretch out a little bit..

In my humble opinion, I like what Jim is doing solo a lot more than I like the last two Jacket albums.

I think the most boring thing ever would be if every new single/ cover  sounded like " Lowdown".

I think its awesome in its own way, I like the message and agree Jim's been more into statement music recently, I'm fine with it, and also like so many others dying to hear me some MMJ.
