should i see Turnpike Troubadors? They are coming here soon
Turnpike is good if you like red dirt/texas country, i loved their first album but the rest started to sound the same, definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen them though
Anytime

11/30 Turnpike Troubadours
12/2 American Aquarium
12/7 John Butler Trio
12/8 Andrew Combs
12/20 Shakey Graves and Moon Taxi
12/22 Robert Earl Keen
2/12 J Roddy
2/17 Rainbow Kitten Surprise
3/3 Innings Fest (Eddie Vedder, Band of Horses)

That's a hell of a lot of good gigs right there...  The 12/20 show is a concert at the Moody, not a taping, correct?

Correct.

Turnpike is good. They're going through some stuff and canceling a lot of concerts lately so I'm not all that optimistic it'll happen.

Man super jealous of that Shakey/Moon Taxi show that is gonna be killer, two of my absolute fave bands/artists right now.
I saw J Roddy was going on tour with Murder By Death, don't know much about them but will not be missing J Roddy

I've got Greensky Bluegrass next weekend in Dallas at Granada
Extremely sad i'm missing Phosphorescent tomorrow due to a wedding
11/15 - Margo Price and Lukas Nelson
11/17 - Greensky Bluegrass
12/13 - Glorietta and Texas Gentlemen
May - Possibly Lord Huron at Red Rocks
Anytime

Also - If anyone close to Napa wants to see Phosphorescent @ Jam Cellars next Sunday, 11/18 - I have 4 tickets available.  We have two shows the same night, about 3 hours apart.  Oops...
5/24/2003, and every damn time possible since!

Jam cellars make phenomenal wine!

Got myself into a special show at Metropolis Studios in London, 100 fans including myself seeing an intimate show by Band of Skulls on 29th Nov, all for free! Couldn't be happier! Saw them at Scala in London a week or two back and they are awesome live. I love special events like this, been to a few small gigs in record stores and the atmosphere is always great!
it wouldn't be a party without you

That new Jeff Tweedy album is awesome, listened through it twice today already and can't get enough of it.

got a couple on the horizon after a dry spell

February 1st @ Boathouse Live - Marcus King Band

February 9th @ The National - Drive By Truckers, Lucinda Williams and Erika Wennerstrom (someone told me DBT is backing Lucinda Williams)

Melvin Seals & JGB, Lord Huron and Allman Betts are also options coming up in March
Don't you ever turn it off

In 2018 I saw
83 different performances
75 different artists (Repeat shows by Dawes, Carl Broemel, Steelism, Jim James, Margo Price, Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Tennis)
40 artists seen live for the first time

Best shows I saw were Lucius, The War on Drugs, Gov't Mule, and obviously Jim/Carl.

I'm going to keep this going...

In 2018 the wife & I saw
49 different performances
41 different artists (Repeat shows by The National, My Morning Jacket, Spoon, Preservation Hall Jazz Band & Willie Nelson)
27 artists seen live for the first time

Best shows were The National in Berkeley both nights, Broken Social Scene, Toots & The Maytals and Spoon at OBH, Pearl Jam in Missoula, Sturgill Simpson, The War On Drugs, Jim at a church and Carl at a tiny, criminally under-attended LA show (Jim was there though), the great Johnny Marr, Willie Nelson and his son Lukas Nelson and Promise Of The Real.  Shoutouts to Mumford & Sons who started our concert year and were great, and to Hurray For The Riff Raff for a great set at OBH, even if my wife did break her foot at the end of the set.  It was that dang Springsteen cover.
Cuz it's been so long since someone shattered me.

In 2018 I saw
19 different performances
22 different artists
8 artists seen live for the first time (As The Crow Flies, Big Thief, Alvvays, Wye Oak, Steve Malkmus and the Jicks, Israel Nash, Steely Dan and Parquet Courts)

Best shows I saw were:
RADIOHEAD!!! (It had been 12 years since my last Radiohead show when I got the chance again this summer. It was magnificent!)
As The Crow Flies (Seeing Chris Robinson sing Black Crowes songs again made my year)
John Moreland
Jackson Browne
Carl and Steelism  <3

Biggest disappointment: Had a festival weekend planned with a lot of good bands for the Bourbon and Beyond Festival. It rained so hard that we left the first day very early and then the grounds turned to mush and the 2nd day was canceled.

That makes 2019 much more enjoyable for sure!!  All great shows.  Interested in that Carl show with Tyler Ramsey, curious if they'll play just solo or if they'll play together.  I'm thinking a mix of both.
