we've done ipods & other bits & pieces, what about headphones? this is a topic close to my heart today - i trod on my ipod headphones trying to get into work this morning.... not good  >:(

soooo do you have funky chunky headphones or the weeny bud ones? or can you recommend some good ones?

 :)

I got a pair of Koss UR-19's for Christmas.  They sound wonderful.

I also have the run of the mill ipod headphones.  Sorta uncomfortable, but they get the job done.

ali

you're back to being primushead again!

yeah, i don't mind the ipod h'phones, but thought as they're kind of cracked now, i may as well take the opportunity to get something decent....

Yeah...zingmofo wasn't working out.   :-/

You should definitely invest in some good headphones though.  Just go ahead and drop 50 or 60 bucks for a nice pair...if you feel like it.

i got  very nice pair of AKG K240 Studio's for christmas this year. They were right at $100, i believe, but the sound quality from them is amazing. one of the first songs i listened to with em was "I Will Sing You Songs" and I was completely blown away by it. So much frickin clarity. It's like finidng out your eyes aren't as good as they should be and getting glasses and being able to see everything absolutely clearly. It's awesome.

I would highly suggest em.

Big and clunky is absolutely amazing.

I'm going to be getting these Bad Boys pretty soon to listen to my vinyls with.  I'm going to become a hermit once they arrive.

I have been very dissapointed with the audio quality of my iPod earbuds. They are starting to crackle and vibrate. I really want to invest in a quality set of head phones for the ol iPod. The earbuds are good for travel use only. Do they hurt anyone's ears? Sometimes they really are uncomfortable to wear.

ali

yeah, i'd noticed the crackling too - they weren't too uncomfortable, but i'm looking forward to getting some ultra-comfy big-ass headphones instead!

the ipod headphones are also really expensive (for the little things that they are) - i checked out the mac shop, and replacement ones were about AUS$70!!!!! just for little WHITE headphones...

Damn!  Fuck that.  I'm sorry, but those sad excuse for headphones are maybe worth $15 U.S.  That's outrageous.

ali

i know!!! ridiculous.... considering i could go & buy a normal black pair (probably just as good) for about AUS$10 (dunno how much US that is, maybe $5)... i love macs/apple but that is pushing it

one time my iPod earbuds shocked me...i guess it didn't like the song i was listening to.
Hold my life until I'm ready to use it

if your ipod is still in warranty, so are the earbuds. give em a buzz and get em replaced. mine developed the crackle and buzz in one ear too, which sucks, because i got the dang thing at christmas and used the earbuds maybe eight times.

i've gotten shocked numerous times. so i switched to big ones... i'm not sure what make but they're sony.

my ipod earbuds:

hurt my ears a lot
crackle
vibrate  ??? ??? ???
and shocked the hell out of my ears when i run on a treadmill

if the ipod is more than a year old, it's still under warranty, but you will have to pay for apple's shipping. for me in north america it was 40$US and i thought that was a bit excessive...

everything sucks. really.

tomEisenbraun

the shipping shouldn't cost a thing. my friend got em sent to him for free. twice.

awesome quality  :-/

Do any of you have noise cancelling earphones?  I've got a pretty good pair of sony ear phones (the bulky earmuff kind), and they're great.  However, sometimes when i'm listening to music and my girlfriend is watching t.v. I can make out some of what's being said on the tube and that's rather annoying.  I thought the noise cancelling 'phones might fix this.  Any suggestions?
yeah, so if it's sad, well you still gotta live till ya die

A friend lent me his pair of Bose noise cancelling head phones for a long flight. Man, they were something special!
I'd love a pair but they ain't cheap  :-/

dragonboy
