I've seen people babbling about whether this movie is just plain fun or just homophobic.  I could care less cuz I find Cohen's flavor of humor rather mean spirited and passive aggressive.  What do you all think?  You panting for this to hit theaters of is the 15 minutes up?
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

He's playing on people's homophobia.  Just like he played on racism in Borat.  I wouldn't call Borat a racist movie and I wouldn't call this movie homophobic.  I think all this "controversy" is being created by the production company to get free press for their movie.  It worked for Borat.

I've read articles interviewing gay people (Hollywood producers and writers, one film festival rep etc...) that have seen it and their initial reaction was that it was funny, and homophobic. Parts of the original early screen version were cut and scenes were shortened. What we have now, is a cleaner less offensive film, and according to some early reviews, not anywhere as funny as Borat, which is too bad.

Seeing it tomorrow. Let's put it in context. Borot is one of the funniest films, ever. So not being as funny is ok as long as it's funnier then must of the dreck that has come out.
