The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

It's been an excellent year for crossing some of my favourite bands off the list; Mogwai, Elbow, Social D last week & Richmond Fontaine this Thursday. Quite why RF aren't so much bigger than they are never ceases to amaze me...

This is the biggest 'what the fuck' in music today.  They should be huge. It makes no sense at all.

Have fun at the show. So, so jealous...

Guess I have to check them out :). They're coming to Europe this fall. Where to start? Get their newest first?

They're all good.  My personal top three are: 13 Cities / Post to Wire / Winnemucca (but it's very, very close).

I'd go Post To Wire / We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River / 13 Cities / Lost Son / Winnemucca  / The Fitzgerald.

But MarkW is right, they are all good. Post To Wire was my favorite album of the '00's. I was obsessed with it for a long time. And the last record "Freeway" was my favorite record of 2009. Willy Vlautin is a lyrical genius.

People should also check out the live albums available on their website.

Fuck it, I'm gonna start a thread!
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

I agree with Mark on the running order. New songs sounded great tonight!

I found out today that I have won 2 tickets to see MOGWAI on Sat night @ the itunes festival!!! MMJ on Sunday, Richmond Fontaine tonight, Mogwai on Sat & Stephen Fretwel & Duke & The King on Sunday?!!

This = Heaven

Mogwai Fear Satan part 1 of 2
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

New festival announced for November here (Oz) and the line up is WOW!

The Flaming Lips, Portished, Bright Eyes, The National, Mercury Rev (so excited to see these guys again!  :D), Holy Fuck, Death in Vegas, Phosphorescent and a bunch of others to be announced.

There's a certain band that would be a perfect addition to this line up...
