Thinking about going to Ryan Bingham October 15. Something tells me I don't want to miss this.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Have fun shaking it with Brittany and company! I love watching her bass player. Something about him reminds me of a teddy bear.

Two of my friends got free tickets from their brother. I checked the box office at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts several times and finally got a ticket for tonight's show! Just a few more hours to go!

well, that was really kind of disappointing.  her voice was awesome, they sounded awesome, the songs were awesome, but... it was pretty much straight off the album canned show in a box.  to top it off, they played for 1 hour and 15 minutes, exactly.

i do not know the last time i saw a show that was only 1 hour and 15 minutes.  all in all i am glad i went, but i doubt i will ever go again.

next up: BAND OF SKULLS ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

10/17 at headliners in the ville.  i cannot wait.  if you have not heard these guys, i highly recommend you check out baby darling doll face honey their debut album.  they are heavy, they are soft, they are geniuses wrapped up in edgy rock n roll.

Thought the same thing when I saw them recently in VT. Direct albums cuts, 75 minutes long. Thought maybe since it was in between NYC and Boston that the small town got the shaft. Maybe they got big too fast? They just don't have the material to fill out a show that meets their hype.

Stars tonight at the Cains!

Forgot to mention that the intro music for the Head and the Heart last week was Wordless Chorus, very cool.
"...the Bear, Heartbreakin' Man, Evelyn...I think we all know those."

BH

Strand of Oaks tonight!    They are opening for the Bowerbirds.    Anybody know anything about the Bowerbirds?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Exact same thing here in the UK when I saw them.  Great sound, fantastic atmosphere, but they only have one album's worth of songs.  I can't find it in my heart to blame them for this - they'll evolve as performers.

Perhaps we should adjust our expectations when seeing a new band - their first demos were only done in early 2011.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Austin City Limits this weekend.  Very excited to see Jack White, Alabama Shakes, Blake Keys, First Aid Kit, Father John Misty, War on Drugs, M83 and Metric.  Man that is a lot of music in two days.

Anyone else going?  If so any recommended bands to check out?

Seeing Band of Horses tonight. Wasn't extremely excited since I'm not a fan of the new album but I just found out that Floating Action is opening!

I wanted to go see the opening act, alas Knoxville is too far to travel on a school night for an opening act. I hope had a good time!
