A heads up again to those in the Baltimore region that the New Riders of the Purple Sage will be playing the 8 x 10 club this Thurs, 3/21.  Not big names any more like back in the day but with two original members and a strong lineup that has been together for many years they turn out some very tight sets and at the 8 x 10 you get to dance by the stage all night as you should with these guys.  I'll be there with Ms GO4IT and a few friends so let me know if you're thinking of joining in.

And tomorrow you can start the day at the Arbutus Record Show pawing through a ton of vinyl: http://www.arbutusvfd.org/record.htm
and see DBT at night at Ram's Head Live - we'll be there with Mr Whippy and some others.
Here's a video from the New Riders 8 x 10 club show.  Another very special and intimate event.

AWESOME!!!  I have to wait until 4/20 and 4/21 for my long awaited return! I saw them last at that 5 night run in 2010 at The Nokia/Best Buy whatever they call it theater. I considered coming to NYC but I really do not like Terminal 5. Wish they were playing somewhere better...but please report back with details!!  ENJOY!

Yeah I caught them at one of the Nokia shows as well.  I've waited long enough for them to get back together.  Can't wait!

Go and let me know how Toots is doing.
I saw him and the Maytals a few time from mid-70s to early 80s but not since.

  I hope JJ Grey and Mofro come out West again soon, they are so great.  I need a massive infusion of sweet Southern Soul!

We have Sigur Ros on Apr 12 and then Lucero on Apr 15 in Phoenix and then we fly out the very next morning to Chicago for two nights of The Black Crowes!  Looking forward to seeing what the new lineup can do (but a bit bummed to see the backing singers are not part of this tour) and excited by the good reports coming from most folks.

Officially broke!

5/4 Jim James ACL Live Taping
5/5 - Jim James @ Stubbs
5/6 Jim James Dallas
5/21 Dave Matthews Band
5/22 Paul McCartney
5/25 Soundgarden
5/28 Rolling Stones (Flying to Chicago for this one)
5/31 Avett Brothers & Grace Potter
6/1 Of Monsters & Men @ Stubbs
9/28 Alt-J @ Stubbs

My head will probably explode by the end of May!
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

Stones and McCartney are the wallet-busters in that list.  I'm glad you are able to pull it off. I'm not gonna pay that much for the Stones, even with Mick Taylor playing a few songs each night, it seems.

Next week begins the best concert week of my life. 5 shows in 6 days. 3 bands, 2 cities!

Tuesday 4/16: Widespread Panic from the front row at The Palace in Louisville
Wednesday 4/17: Widespread Panic at The Palace in Louisville
Friday 4/19: Josh Ritter at The Brown in Louisville
Saturday 4/20: The Black Crowes at The Ryman in Nashville
Sunday 4/21: The Black Crowes at The Ryman in Nashville

Monday off work, thank god! :)
And of all the shows I've ever been to I have never sat in the front row! 3rd and 4th a few times, obviously close up at GA shows, but never front row in a theater!

p.s. Had these WSP tickets before the JJ show at The Brown was announced, so I will have to wait until Forecastle.

Jeff Murray

Brown Bird tonight!
Pretty please with peanut butter pudding surprise on top??
