That you can put on, lie down, and know every single track is going to be amazing, warm and wonderful...........that you can just sink into and sinks into you?

cool thread! I love blanket albums... Mine's American Beauty (Grateful Dead) no doubt.

Runner ups include Lonnie Johnson's Complete Folkways Recordings, Elvis at Sun, After the Goldrush, any of Nick Drake's stuff, The Tennessee Fire, Nashville Skyline, and if I'm drunk while lying in the blanket-Exile On Main Street
"As citizens of eternity we ought to be without anxiety."

ha, awesome!  I'll have to check out Nick Drake and Lonnie Johnson.  TN Fire and American Beauty are GREAT examples.  Exile On Main Street might make me rip up my blanket and set it on fire.  :)

Love this.

Not sure it fits just right, but my blanket album is Roger Waters' Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking.

Morphine - Good and Andrew Bird - Mysterious Production of Eggs also make me want to just close my eyes and soak them all in.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Tracy 2112

Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
Radiohead- OK Computer
Rush- Moving Pictures
Beatles- Sgt. Pepper

Explosions in the Sky- The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place
Be the cliché you want to see in the world.

I am not going to include live albums because that's not fair since they span albums, but I will go for:

Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Modest Mouse - Everywhere and his Nasty Parlour Tricks (or can I not include EPs?)
The National - Alligator
Reigning Sound - Break Up, Break Down
Ryan Adams - Love is Hell
Tragically Hip - Road Apples
Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One
Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle
Ween - The Mollusk
...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead - Worlds Apart
Built to Spill - Keep it Like a Secret

I f-ing love you.  You have turned me on to galaxy 500 AND built to spill.  The fact that you added Explosions In The Sky makes me want to lip kiss you!!

ps.

Sgt. Peppers, Wish You Were Here, and Ok Computer are three of the best albums ever made.  I can defiantly curl up to them.  Do I love you enough to try Moving Pictures?

Of Course!!!

but I'd rather hear it while you used a spoon for the whammy bar effect while wearing nothing but your tighty-whiteys.

again  :-*

I have a standing assumption in the "other music thread" that MMJ is presumed for all questions where appropriate, like unless it's in a shitty albums thread.
