okey doke...this one only exists as a bootleg of some live shows, but i think i got it pretty much figured.

i hate writing out full tabs, so what you get here is bits and pieces between chords. if it doesn't make sense, i'll make sure to make so that it's more understandable for you, just let me know and i'll do what i can.

Capo I

the main riff of the song:

a----0--2--
e-3---------

and then this riff played over top of the C chord

b--1--0--1--0----1   into a D chord

then a G....then repeat...

without the tab it looks something like:

| C | D |
| G | G |

the little walk up riff begins on the 2 of 4 count in the second bar of G.

the verse:

G-----------------G/F#-------E(major!)
Livin in these con.......tinental

C------------------D
United States I fall....

(repeat the pattern until the chorus)

Chorus: (play it twice)

C-------D
I can't wait

---G-----G/F#-----E
oh I.....can't.....wait

C--------D----------G
I can't wait anymore

Verse 2: (same business for the first four lines, then it switches straight to C)

the idea for this looks like:

| G | G/F# | E | E |
movements that make me shiver
| C | C | D | D |
knowin that there's no pause

| G | G/F# | E | E |
wonderin' if i'll deliver
| C | C | D | D |
to someone who's had it all

| C | C | D | D |
knowin that there's no way
| G | G/F# | E | E |
to get back if i should stray
| C | C | D | D |
so i guess i'll give the old boys a
| G | G | G | G |
call...

| C | C | D | D |
and i'll act like i don't know you at
| G | G | G | G |
all...

then the Chorus and then end it...

as for the lyrics...here's what I've got. there's just a couple of words i can't make out and i'll put a (?) at the end of the ones i don't know...

livin in these continental
united states i fall
in with the sentimental
lovers who want it all
they make all their faces pretty
they take every stride tall
but i just want to get back ot my city
in no time...i'll have them all

but i can't wait
ohh i can't wait
i can't wait anymore
but i can't wait
no i can't wait
i can't waiit anymore

movements that make me shiver
knowin that there''s no pause
wonderin if i'll deliver
to someone who's had it all
knowin that there's no way
to get back if i should stray
so i guess i'll give the old boys a call...

and i'll act like i don't know you at all...

but i can't wait
oh i can't wait
i can't wait anymore...
i can't wait no
i can't wait
i can't wait anymore...

(about the "guess i'll give the old boys a call" line--in older versions he says a name that i still can't make out instead of "old boys", but the most recent version i have, he says "old boys" and I like the way that sounds best...so that's the one i threw in)

Hope you like :)

Thanks for posting.  Have you attempted to transcribe the lyrics?  I think they're pretty straight forward but it's nice to have them.

sorry i saved in the middle of tabbing it because my computer freezes a lot and then forgot to finish it and went on a rambling streak on the guitar. then i realized i still hadn't finished this :) so i just threw the lyrics on. and hopefully made the last verse make more sense.

updated the lyrics

"they take every stride tall"

i don't know why i didn't hear that before, i just was listening too hard, i guess.

are you positive?  I've always heard, "They make every strat talk". :-/

tomEisenbraun

i mean, it oculd be, but listen to it listening for take every stride tall. and seeing as that is a phrase, and a logical one when paired with making faces pretty, taking strides tall would be walk haughtily, i would presume.
