This is one of the most legendary Jacket show ever.  Most would rank it in their top five at least.  I had the good fortune of being at this show and it was amazing.  My friend, who you know as KimbosBread, taped the show on digital video.  The video didn't really capture the experience of watching the laser light show during this masterful experience so we extracted the audio and leaked onto this site (although leaked probably isn't the right word since we got permission from Jim).  A few more notes, this show took place on 09-08-01.  This was when KC Guetig was on drums for the band, and this is probably the best show from his year or so with the band (other than 11-09-01which has not been circulated yet).  The sound quality is not the best but the energy of the performance comes through.  Also note that the recording does not including Bermuda Highway, unfortunately, because KimbosBread was changing tapes during this song.  Too bad too, because it was a great version, completely unplugged with the dome of the Planetarium supplying the reverb.  Enjoy, jacketeers!

If I find it I'll post it.  However, it is in a stoarge bin somewhere in KimbosBread's parent's attic.  When we find it, I'm sure it'll show up.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm wishing it was broken into individual tracks. Not the best quality audio, but still sounds quite magical... I bet it was amazing being there.

I'd also like to see some video, or at least some photos.

That's one of the coolest MMJ posters I've seen, by the way.

I don't suppose you could put this up at archive.org or dimeadozen.org or bt.etree.org in flac format?
I was never that good with the words, anyway

Just wanted to bump this with another thanks... I've listened to this show a couple of times, now... It's really magical, but I suppose every MMJ show is, in its own little way...

Anyone know of a good program to use to cut larger files like these two into individual songs?

I have previously used CD Wave Editor.  Here is one link from which you can download this free program.

Dance on fire as it intends
Music is your only friend

Thanks! I'll get to cutting the show up into individual songs, now... and by the way, here's the track list...

Part One

The Dark / Lowdown / Picture of You / Old Sept. Blues / By My Car / Heartbreakin' Man / It's About Twilight Now / The Way That He Sings / Evelyn Is Not Real / One Big Holiday

Part Two

I Think I'm Going To Hell / The Bear (w. Will You Love Me Tomorrow? - Carole King cover) / War Begun / Just Because I Do / Lil Billy / Phone Went West / Rocket Man

Yes, that's the rare Lil Billy! And it's pretty damn rockin'!

Edit -

Just finished chopping the show up into individual songs... didn't take too long at all.

I have to say that in my book this planetarium show and this years Bonnaroo are the two most magical shows the band has ever played...............and they did the Evelyn statue thing at both.  It was really wierd having my very own extremely similar experience to that song as the good sir that tapped this show.  The world turns in circles and returns favors. :-*  Nice post aMD.  ;)
