Despite seeing MMJ a lot this year, it was still a bit painful to miss the Beacon shows.  It has been fun to read all the comments.   I will soon make time to watch some You Tube clips with PWW being the first on my list.  Everyone has been raving about that version.  Thanks for posting links mfc17.

Well Adam it's my belief this was just the first Beacon run.

I'm seeing this as just the start of something Allman like we'll be looking back on down the road, and discussing which run was the most epic!

I said this last week but in the fall of 89 the Allmans started their incredible 20 year Beacon run with four nights! Gotta love that symmetry.   It was also the smallest run they ever did there with most runs going 8-10 shows. Topping off with the epic 19 shows in March of 99!

Now that the Allmans have wrapped up, March at the Beacon has a void that is gonna need filling.  With the success of this run, I'm hoping and praying the powers that be will jump at the chance to get our guys there every year.

That would be amazing, but my only hope is that it not be wrapped around T'giving.  I realize it's a fun time of the year to be in NYC, but living on the far other end of the country, it's rough getting to NYC that week when you have kids.  First world problems I guess.

No question Walter.  If it wasn't NYC or somewhere close to that, I most likely wouldn't have been able to make it. That said, being able to tie it into Thanksgiving for those of us lucky enough to be close, it was truly an amazing, unforgettable week. I was definitely one of the lucky ones who was able to come home for Thanksgiving, and get back to NYC to do it again. Very thankful for being able to do that, and extremely fortunate as well.

My hope is that they slide into March so everyone who wants to can make it. Plus that might enable them to expand the run as well.

I just want clean video or audio of Touch Me Pt 2>Cobra>Run Thru

There's a 2 minute video on the FB fan page of the jam at end of Touch Me. I've watched it at least 10x. Bo was on FI-YAH!

Was it mine? LOL

I was honestly afraid to record entire songs.  1)  I had to hold my camera over my head a little which meant blocking someone else's view - I hate to do that.  2) I had no idea if security would be pricks about it.

Most memorable moments for me....

First time seeing Librarian live - and I waited all this year for that moment.

Cobra-->Run Thru  OMG

Covering Eagles of Death Metal

Meeting Jim

And never in my life have I seen guys so ballsy as to stand in the street with nitrous tanks like that.  OMG - all those balloons!!  Then, when no one else was buying, I heard one guy tell the others to wrap it up; they were moving to another location (a bar I think?).  Incredible.

Niiiiiiice, some more videos are poppin' up! Hoping some more continue to trickle out!

These are all wonderful. I feel like I'm there. Very well done by you and the band!

If you haven't seen/heard this PWW, do yourself a favor and check it.  One of the greatest if not the greatest version of PWW (or dare I say one of the greatest versions of any song).  You can hear the crowd at the appropriate times getting more and more into it as the song goes on.

1 week or so later, of the 723 current views I'm probably 50 of them

As someone who has also re-watched/listened to this PWW in an effort to recreate my experience from 15 feet away I just wanna give props to mfc172 whoever he may be for incredible videography skills.

is there legit momentum that a beacon run may become an annual event?  please let that be the case..

I actually emailed mfc172 and asked what he used to capture the video and audio and was slightly taken back by his answer, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70, which is a point and shoot camera.

That camera captured the sound really well. The video was excellent for amatuer video too. Lots of clarity.

MMJ End-of-tour runs/shows in NYC

2015:  Beacon
2012:  Port Chester (one night in Boston for NYE followed)
2011:  MSG
2010:  Terminal 5
2008:  MSG
2007:  Beacon

in 2009, there were only 13 shows.  In 2013 it wasn't "their" tour.  In 2014 they only played OBH.

So in the last 8 years, when they have actually toured and it was their own tour, they have mainly capped things off in NYC.  However the venue has been constantly changing.  Seems unlikely that they would go back to the Beacon again right away but that would be INFINITELY better than MSG.

i'd be 100% down with them alternating b/t the Cap and the Beacon. Best MMJ shows I've ever seen at those two venues. And I completely agree on MSG. The Theater at MSG is another story though. Saw Radiohead there in 2006 and it was really cool.

adam_pliskow

Side note, did you see Jim at those shows in 06 at the theater. Forget if it was night1 or 2 but he was sitting right near us

I did not! bummer. I did sit near a screaming woman from Colombia who kept yelling for Idioteque. That was nice.

mfc172 here. thanks for the nice words regarding the videos....to answer some of these questions, night two i was sitting in row A of the loge which worked out great because i had the low wall and railing right in front of me which allowed for unobstructed views and i was able to brace myself which definitely helped with the image stabilization. The camera itself does most of the work but it is somewhat on the larger side but the results make it all worth it.
i went to night 3 as well, but sat way too close and center to take video. wouldve felt really uncomfortable doing so.
did not go to night 4, so you must be thinking of someone else's footage from that night....
i may have 1 or 2 more videos from that night, but i posted what i thought was the best....
ive been to a handful of shows in the past and have taken video at all as well. if you search on youtube for "mfc172" or "MFSYNC172" you should be able to find those videos as well (note that the MFSYNC172 channel only contains videos that have been synced with either soundboard or superior audio). All the raw video files can be found on mfc172 YT page....
