Go ahead and add Whitney "Light Upon the Lake" to my list. Killer record

yeah my bf really likes that Whitney too. I haven't heard it yet but will check it out. I have Kevin Morby to check out too, he likes that one a lot too.

I liked the new Jayhawks on first listen. seeing them Friday night too!

Come Closer

^ Yup this has been growing on me big time. I thought it was ok at first, but now I can't stop playing it. Infectious melodies and the arrangements with the horn are great.

New Twin Peaks is also freaking awesome. Been a while since so many albums have been great for me
Sometimes when I get in my zone, you'd think I was stoned, but I never as they say, touched the stuf

Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial

AOTY so far

It's really, really great.  So many quotable lines.

Lucius

Lucius - Good Grief (Fantastic "kooky" pop album, saw them live last month and they are FLAWLESS performers -- I actually signed up with this username not knowing they had any connection to MMJ!)

Band of Skulls - By Default (Great album if you're a fan of disco-rock, their previous three albums are more hard hitting)

Ladyhawke - Wild Things (Another one that puts on a great show!)

Santigold - 99c (Great album but I'm pissed at her right now for cancelling her show in Manchester)

Niki & The Dove - Everybody's Heart Is Broken Now (Few people pull off the whole 70s/80s throwback this flawlessly - one song sounds like a lost Fleetwood Mac classic - bold claim but true)

The Joy Formidable - Hitch (The video for 'Last Thing On My Mind' is genius - it addresses the uneven balance between male and female sexuality in music - very hypnotic!)

This is by far my favourite song and video of the year (so far)

it wouldn't be a party without you

looking forward to hearing Whitney's debut album that is released tomorrow. Love the first couple of singles:

It's very good, really has grown on me. Middle of it dips in quality slightly, but they keep it short enough where it's a great listen. There's a 3rd single out.

crooney

William Tyler - Modern Country.

May be his best yet.  His other albums 'Behold the Spirit' and 'Impossible Truth' are both incredible as well.

i have to sneak listens in at home when the wife is away. She can't get past Julian's voice.

But, I agree, a pretty great album.
