Is there an article/interview where Jim talks about his favorite bands/albums on vinyl? I just listened to the Ray Lamontange interview on NPR and he talked about how they both dig the TALK TALK albums.

There might be, but I don't remember reading it.

There is always this video of the whole band shopping for records.

Gracias Mr White. This missed my radar.  Good stuff!

I'd been wondering what Jim thought of Talk Talk or if he'd even listened to them. Will have to check out that NPR interview with Ray.

I scratched my head when I read this. I just remember Talk Talk as having two early 80's very early 80's sounding pop songs. Did some research. I got some Rhapsody listening to do.
Addendum: So, after listening to Spirit of Eden, it seems Talk Talk was the original Radiohead. With a little Astral Weeks maybe.

Haha, yep! Sounds like two totally different bands. "The Colour of Spring" is a nice bridge between their early synthpop days and their later post-rock/jazz/ambient/heaven's waiting room music - Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are definitely desert island material.
