Okay, I'll gladly do it.

I lived up in the sticks of VT for a long while. Now back on Cape Cod, MA. Shelburne VT is right next to the happening and crunchy "city" of Burlington. Located right on beautiful Lake Champlain. But, I know nothing of this venue or how a show goes down.

This area of Vermont: Shelburne over to Stowe, including my favorite area The Mad River Valley up to Burlington is all relatively close separated by a smallish mountain range. Easy navigating and gorgeous scenery.

Things I would do:
Hike Camels Hump mountain. Tough hike but very much worth the reward.

Mountain bike. Plenty of spots in the Mad River Valley.

Paddleboard on the Lake.

Swim: Lake Champlain, Waterbury Reservoir, Swimming Holes (all over) - Warren Falls being the most popular.

Tool around downtown Burlington - Church St. area - people watch. Take in the patchouli.

There are many solid bars, breweries and restaurants all over Burlington all within easy walking distance once you park your car.

We usually stay at this BnB: http://www.willardstreetinn.com
Cheaper hotels are in either South Burlington or Williston. But the best spot for a stay this time of year is: http://fpr.vermont.gov/state_lands/management_planning/documents/district_pages/district_4/little_river

Nectars Bar for late night fries n gravy and live music (where Phish began)

Record shopping: Pure Pop and Burlington Records.

Other more simple towns to check out: Middlebury, Waitsfield, Warren, Bristol. All in the Valley.
Also, Waterbury and Stowe nearby.

For the more enthusiastic: Montreal is not far (2 hour drive) and more beautiful scenery up through the Islands area of Vermont.

Ill be coming from the Portland Maine show and meeting up with friends but hoping to spend a few days after the show doing some of the above. See you in the hills!!

Great choice.

It's pretty rural up there. Not a shoppers paradise by any stretch. So mostly outdoor activities. Although touring Ben & Jerrys factory in Waterbury is an indoor touristy thing to do. Another side trip on a multi day stay in that area is to hop on the ferry from Charlotte and head over to NY side of Lake Champlain. Then drive up to Lake Placid/Saranac Lake area. It's a full day round trip.

That's all I got unless u give some hints as to what type of adventures your looking for.

A couple of my favorite Burlington restaurants.

Breakfast and Lunch:

Dinner:

The Spot and Pennycluse are legit - I'll add Sneakers in Winooski to that breakfast list.

The Farmhouse in downtown Burlington is amazing for beer and food.

And we can't forget Kountry Kart Deli for a grab n go breakfast or a post bar 2am bite.  "The Shiner" sandwich is one of my favorite foods of all-time.

I used to live on the top floor of the Woolen Mill apartments in Winooski (1998-2000). I could've sworn Sneakers was a redneck coke bar to hear it by name. But wow, I looked it up and it is indeed a fine looking Bistro. I'll def check it out.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. We are looking for outdoor excursions, hikes, climbs, bike, etc or just anything fun really. Thanks again

Your welcome. The most challenging and popular areas for hiking and biking would be Camels Hump, Mt Mansfield and Mad River Valley. You could also hike part of the Long Trail if your looking for backpacking: https://www.greenmountainclub.org/the-long-trail/

That said the possibilities are rather endless. Your better off choosing an area of the state to explore and go from there. i.e.. The Islands, The Valley, Northeast Kingdom etc

There was a gal from Fla. who was kind enough to buy me a beer.  She told me it was on you! Fiddlehead IPA! Muchas gracias!

Steam opener, PWW closer! First Light making an appearance! I really liked the way it was played at OBH this year. A more rocking version w/ some great Bo work on it. XMas Curtain making a somewhat rare appearance.

From all the pictures I saw on FB, this looked like a really special show.

Lynchie, we turn our eyes (and mousepads) to you now for a recording lol
Don't you ever turn it off
