Aluminum Park - what is it about?
« on: Jan 03, 2018, 05:05 PM »
Anyone know the story behind Aluminum Park?  Reading the lyrics kinda got me nowhere.

I truly believe many songs are just words put to melody with a veiled theme. If I were to guess it is about a roller coaster park. Kinda like trying to find meaning in a crazy dream.

I was looking online, and on songmeanings.com I found this:
"In case anyone is still stumped, I believe the song is a message to the listener. The aluminum park represents a place you may have played as child, and he's urging you now, as an adult, to get out in the world and play. Play your own game, make your own way, and enjoy it like you did when you were a kid." - firsttimecaller

fucking love this interpretation cause its exactly what hes saying. I stared at Jim the entire time Aluminum Park was played in my presence, as I've always dreamed of seeing it, and just paid attention to what he was saying and doing. He did actions to each line it seeemed, like on the "YOU GOTTA GET WHAT YOU WANT!" he shook his fist

It was pretty powerful stuff.

LOVE THIS SONG! The tone on that guitar is so metallic and tight
