Looks like the organizers are looking for a new site -- they can't host this year's event at the announced location. But it doesn't look like good news.

"Due to final permitting and logistical factors beyond our control, the new FloydFest site, FestivalPark, is not currently viable for a 2023 festival, and we are currently exploring all options. We will be back with more information on April 6."

MMJ is supposed to play FloydFest a day after the show at The Anthem.

Thanks for the update!
Not good news for those planning to attend Floyd Fest, but here's hoping for a two night Anthem run if FF gets cancelled. It's wide open before/after 7/29 -

Man that stinks!!

Personally, that brings back bad memories of 2003 Field Day, which was moved from a two days in a field on Long Island to a shortened one day in Giants Stadium.

Fortunately, Radiohead, Blur, Spiritualized and the Beastie Boys all played epic sets in that day in that cold, rain soaked concrete donut.

Side note, bought a shirt for FD and never recognized the band near the bottom of the card until 2006 (my first MMJ show).

My Morning Jacket played on the outer stage that day, just a week before their 2003 Bonnaroo debut.

There is even some rough but rocking footage of their performance that day.  :undecided:

What a bummer but you would think all of these sorts of details would be worked out 100% before taking people's cash and travel plans are made.  But at least it's the first show of this leg of the tour so hopefully it's not overly disruptive and maybe something will happen!

I really hope that if they have to cancel this festival that MMJ doesn't also cancel the DC show.  Travelling and all that involves in making the trip for one show instead of two is probably less than ideal.  Or add a second night in DC?!

Zutroy

Yes!!!!!! A second night in DC. Let's manifest it!!!

As I'm sure everyone has guessed, or seen, by now, FloydFest is canceled.

MMJ has already taken the date off the tour schedule. The only July date at this point is July 29 at The Anthem in DC.

Sad news indeed but I like how they are handling ticket refunds and of course it's good news that they are planning on coming back for 2024.

A lot of big bands are playing The Atlantis, the new venue that has the same footprint as the old 9:30 club with a capacity of under 5000.  Can we manifest the second show be at this place!

brob

I'll take the Atlantis and add another show.  Two or three will get me to DC since Red Rocks is a no go for me this year.
